We were likely going to be disappointed in the return with just about anyone coming back to the Flames. I am not impressed with the return but this isn't the 90s all over again. We can rebuild faster with the salary cap and we need to rebuild - it is going to be painful but it is truly necessary.

That can't be the return. I remain optimistic that that is not the return.

The fact that Bruins fans on twitter are jumping for joy about the rumoured deal makes me concerned that the return isn't great.

The Russian seems like he could be a keeper, the 1st rounder is nice..but its not quite enough for a guy like Jarome.

For all we know, Iggy would only allow a trade to Boston all along - the other 3 teams may have just been used to play with. If this was the best we could get from Boston...then I can understand. But I find it hard to believe a better deal wasn't out there from LA, CHI etc.

It'll be interesting once this is official to hear the backstory.

I don't like the return either, but I think that we are at least getting something. If management let Iginla walk for nothing, that would have been significantly worse. Looking at it from the Boston POV, they get a guy who potentially doesn't re-sign with them.

I want Calgary to be better, but I think in the end, we get a prospect who could turn out, a depth d-man, and a late first rounder. Since we will end up near dead last, we have a good chance to land MacKinnon or Jones. Boston HOPEFULLY goes on to win the Cup for Iggy, and all is right in the world...

It feels like comedic tragedy, that most saw coming. Lets see what other laughs this JOKE of a franchise can come up with?

Mark Spector Sports ‏@SportsnetSpec 1m Centre Alex Khokhlachev, D Matt Bartkowski and a 1st. That's the talk, still unconfirmed. Sounds like Boston is the team for Iginla.

My wife and I were debating moving to Boston earlier today. I guess Iginla just made our decision final! Thanks Iggy!!!

This is a bag of crap.

Didn't ownership not learn anything form the Phaneuf disaster? Fudge!

Return is appropriate, people's expectations for a diminishing ufa was too high

I don't like Feaster at all, but he has no hope in impressing anyone with this trade. He's dealing with such a limited audience of bidders, there's no way in hell he'll get fair return.

Whoever leaked JI's list did more damage to the flames than Feaster will on this deal.

I don't know why people here get all that dramatic and upset. Not that it's an outstanding return, but a good prospect + a project + a 1st was a realistic outcome from the beginning.
Cause Brenden Morrow returned better?
