I don't know why people here get all that dramatic and upset. Not that it's an outstanding return, but a good prospect + a project + a 1st was a realistic outcome from the beginning.

agreed with you. It's better than seeing him walk for nothing.

Bartkowski is one of Bostons top defense prospects, and Koko is a small center with a ton of upside. Plus a first. Only time will tell if this is a good deal or a terrible one....or even the actual deal.

What the hell were people expecting to get for a 35 yr old UFA? I know what Iggy means to Calgary but this is actually not a bad return. Koko is going to be a beauty.

The only silver lining is I guess he could come back July 1 at a reduced ($4m) salary.
Don't think he'd be the guy to do that, but also part of me never thought he'd want to be traded in the first place as a pure rental, either.

Bartkowski? Why? We need someone to do the Bartman in the stands? Could acquiring him signal a Butler/J-Bo/Gio move on the horizon?
If this rumoured trade ends up becoming reality, the Flames had better use the Bruins' 1st for something like moving into the top-3 at the draft (assuming they aren't going to finish with that high of a pick in the first place). Iggy for Kockhlachev and 1/2 of MacKinnon would be a deal I can live with.

Being a little over dramatic today Ari? It's not finalized yet, but even then, two prospects and a first round pick? Not a bad return for a month of Iggy IMO.

This can't be the return, if this is the best that was being offered why wouldn't jay wait until the deadline.......that's what doesnt make sense right now. Something else / someone else has to be involved.

I want to kick the Boston-fans on this site in the nuts. If they remember the Thornton-deal at all, they should have some respect.

Insisting on half-baked prospects is a huge philosophical mistake. This ship needed to be burned to the ground and it seems like they just flipped an amazing asset for Butler / Byron.
