Yup, much like Limbaugh, franken and dozens of others who identify a flaw in people then expolit that very flaw to make themslves pertinent in the eyes of their listeners/followers....and wealthy in the process.
Eklund is another example.

I'm pretty sure that's not in the Talmud.

You obviously do not know anything about the Talmud beyond an erroneously translated snipet. What you're referring to is an obsure discussion on what makes a person a virgin for the purpose of a dowery payment, and it's a rationale for why someone raped as a child should still be considered a virgin. Actual discussion on the issue:
http://www.angelfire.com/mt/talmud/three.html
The Talmud strictly forbids all sex outside of marriage, which includes cases of child abuse.

If that's an example of a "fact" you know about the Talmud, then I think you'd best seriously query your grasp of what "fact" means.
Why do I even bother? You clearly already have your mind made up, and worse, you think that *everybody else* are the close-minded ones, not you. The world is not run by secret societies. The rich and powerful don't NEED to work behind the scenes to control the world, because they are, by definition, those who already do.
This is the essential flaw of all "new world order" conspiracy theorists. The only reason to have a conspiracy is because you are trying to hide your activities from those who have the power to frustrate your aims. Who is this mythical enemy of whom Obama is afraid? HE'S ALREADY THE PRESIDENT OF THE MOST POWERFUL NATION IN HISTORY, HE DOESN'T NEED TO PLAY STUPID GAMES TO MESS WITH YOUR MIND.

That's true...it is a consideration when planning to travel. However, the solution is to have a readily available dog sitter, or places in which you can take the dog.
We travel on the road with a lab, and most hotels now are set up to accommodate people travelling with dogs.
I saw on the Dragons the other night a couple setting up a luxury facility for travellers with dogs. The dogs were being pampered more than the average human. What is this world coming to... we're all going to the dogs.

Oh I just thought of this.
Why is it so socially unacceptable to make fun of Fat people but completely okay to make fun of people for other things? I used to get called "too skinny" all the freaking time. Not just by people trying to be mean but like teachers, family friends etc... No one thought anything of telling me to eat more and what not. Can you imagine if a teacher said "eat less" to a fat kid??? The world would implode.
Hell even other things...
I've got a good receding hairline going and my friends will joke about it (luckily it's not a big deal to me because I buzz my hair anyways) but if you think about it, thats something that is absolutely out of my control in every way. There is nothing I could do to change that. Where as we have a few bigger friends but no one would dare make fun of them for that even though there is a lot they could do to try and change it. It's not an intimidation thing either. It's 100% based on hurting their feelings.
Seems weird to me.

Because fat people are a majority now, and instead of admitting they have a problem and are eating themselves into an early grave, they bang the drum that allows them to appear victimized and not responsible for their affliction.

Whenever someone (other than my parents) has told me to eat more, I tell them to work harder.

Also, seems weird in the context of the anti-smoking debate. It's acceptable to belittle smokers and go on and on about the health care costs associated with smoking. Meanwhile, the health care costs of obesity far exceed those of smoking.

BS in the thread a couple of years ago that probably ran a few hundred pages you and the theories put forth were pretty effectively shredded to the point that you became a ghost in that thread and it died.
The architecs and engineers for 9/11 were pretty much made to look foolish on a national Geographic Special where they put those conspiracy theories based around building collapses and the use of thermite to the test and pretty much invalidated the work of the organization.
I posted a website that specifically went through all of the conspiracy theories and especially the engineering theories and used math, science, photo evidence and enactment to disprove the conspiracies put forth.
I don't think that there's any relevant reason to bring back 9/11 conspiracy debates since it would just be a repeat of the previous thread that I'm too lazy and don't care enough to find.
The Engineers and Architects are coming across as misguided and a bit crackpotish.
There's a reason why the 9/11 investigations haven't been re-opened and its not because of a government conspiracy to hide the truth x-files style. Its because there's no compelling reason to re-open it.
Go find the National Geographic special and watch it.
I would put out that this site has equal credibility to the engineeres and architechs.
http://www.debunking911.com/
There was no controlled demolition of the WTC buildings including building 7
Planes flew into the Pentagon
It wasn't the Jews
The term "pull it" refers to pulling out fire fighters from a dangerous non winnable situation
etc.
I've read all of the 9/11 conspiracy theories, they're infuriating because they're based on supposition, guesstimate sciences and a lot less physical evidence then the other side.
There's a reason why conspiracy theory fans are a fringe group.

Pretty good little bit on the debate:
Quote:
How serious is the problem? Obesity has risen a full 34% since 1960 while morbid obesity is up sixfold.
Making the cost impact all the more troubling is the fact that, unlike smokers, obese people tend to live almost as long as those who keep their weight under control. ”Smokers die early enough that they save Social Security, private pensions, and Medicare” trillions of dollars”, said Duke’s Eric Finkelstein. “But mortality isn’t that much higher among the obese.”
|
So smokers fund their health care costs via taxes on cigarettes and then do us all the courtesy of dieing early. The obese tend to linger on with a plethora of health issues.

As a fat guy, I can tell you that insurance is far more expensive for me than it would be for you.
