Or, we could reject notions of conspiracy where they are clearly ridiculous (moon landing hoax, 9/11 is a US gov't operation, Bilderbergers and Jews secretly rule the world, global warming is a crypto-socialist scheme to take away our SUVs) and embrace them where they have an explanatory power lacking other theories (Bolsheviks did secretly plot to overthrow Tsar, Reichstag fire probably was a false flag operation, Theresa Spence's diet is unlikely to produce a best-selling self-help book describing her methods).

Hey, you should drop in on the new tebagger Community website. I just read a thread on how a whole bunch of people agreed that Sandy Hook was Obamas responsibility, to push the gun control bill.

My relevant unpopular opinion:

The American Government is incapable of meaningful conspiracy. I mean, they couldn't even plant WMD's in Iraq after gaining military control of the country. Talk about incompetent conspirators.

Coke Zero is easily the finest diet cola there is. I used to like Diet Pepsi, but Coke Zero is incredibly awesome and blows it away.

Buying your groceries at Walmart/Superstore is such a waste of time, and definitely not worth the $3 you save.

On top of that, for some reason, the food actually tastes better when it's from a more premium store. Call me crazy, but it's true!

Sugar sodas are way too sweet. Especially those that have real sugar in them.

Vanilla Coke tasted like cough syrup - horrible taste

That isn't unpopular at all! I love the stuff, and as far as I can tell, Coke Zero is insanely popular in Canada.

Coke Zero is a diet cola branded for men, because men weren't buying diet colas.

I really cannot stand to be around intolerant people. "I don't like intolerance" is the opposite of an unpopular opinion, but the extent to which I cannot deal with it is probably out of the range of mainstream. For example reading through the NFL player gay showering thread (as it's turned into), there are a couple of people in there that I just would not be able to hang around. If you say things like this:

I am essentially equating you to a neo-nazi or a KKK member. The difference in my mind between you and those people is immaterial to me. I don't want to even be near you.

There's only two things that I can't stand. People who are intolerant of other peoples cultures, and the Dutch

I thought I was amid lots of Pepsi drinkers. I guess I'm glad to get agreement.

On the plus side, it's becoming a good thread to set aside people whose opinions and comments in virtually everything else mean absolutely zero in the future.
