can we really say european looking anymore? I think light-skinned person would be a better description...

anglo-saxon decent?

I never know how to describe white folk to other white people without sounding racist.

Caucasian sounds like I am trying to be overly sensitive about it.

Personally, the asian description is fine with me. I'd rather have that than have people guessing at whether or not I was the korean, japanese or chinese guy.

Chinaman is the best way to describe them.

I know it's ask a Chinese guy and I know y-all aren't the same but I thought I'd ask anyway in case a Vietnamese brother should venture in to this post...

What is that 'Sate' stuff that is in Sate Beef Pho? It seems like the broth is the same regardless and then the put a dollop of spicy sate stuff in there (and charge whitey an extra couple bucks). Can I buy some of that somewhere, is it a homemade concoction? Is the soup base the same for all the Pho and they just change what they throw in there?

c'mon, you should not use words like "chink, jap, etc." to describe asians...

...because they all look alike, just use 'asian'.

You could probably search the internet for a more accurate answer but going off of what I've heard of is that its a paste of aromatics. So I'd guess garlic, shallots, chillis and maybe more. You can find it in most asian stores.

Cashier: "Hehe oh, that's so and so..."

Help settle an argument between me and my gf. She thinks it was offensive to use the word "asian" as a way to describe the sales associate's appearance. I think it's fine, but who the hell knows these days.

For the record, the cashier (also Asian) didn't seem to have a problem with it. In fact, I heard her joke about something like "people are afraid to say... blahblah" (filling in the blanks, I'm assuming the next words were 'he's Asian') and both her and the customer chuckled/giggled and seemed friendly.

Thoughts?
I think he'd rather have a vague description including a racial type than no commission.

Listen Dorkster, I did not enter the 'ask the Honkey' post did I?

"It's probably this and you can probably buy it at some store somewhere," doesn't cut it.

I'm looking for my Vietnamese brothers to deliver the straight goods.

It's just beef cooked in a spicy peanut sauce.

That's like asking what Curry Chicken is.. it's just chicken in a curry sauce

You wouldn't think it was weird if you had a watermelon roll off a table.
