Terrible to see the team drop 7 spots at the most key point in the draft to basically offload Kotalik. Selfishly at least maybe now we'll end up with one of the two Kelowna Rockets who are going to go in the late 1st/early 2nd.

I feel pretty comfortable about this if McKenzie approves this. Don't forget, Pierre McGuire is the guy that ripped the Habs for picking Carey Price at #5... yeah
|
yeah that changed my thoughts immediately, I like that we have such a high 2nd rounder too.

I'm having horrible flashbacks of trading down and taking Chucko.

I bet if a Forsberg, Faksa or Grigorenko fell to 14th Feaster would have taken him. But they didn't -- and it's pretty wide open now, so might as well trade down.

But I have faith in Weisbrod and Feaster to know what they're looking for. I guess they weren't high on Teuvo, and apparently not many others are either.
|
I completely agree. We were all discussing the other day how impressed we are with Weisbrod, let's have a little faith here guys!

I don't know if McKenzie knows what the hell he's talking about at this point. His draft order was completely wrong. He hasn't much more of a clue than any others, it seems.

I wonder if Feaster at least got a courtesy lick.
(Alright, I know I am overreacting now... but I really wanted Girgensons! /whiny rant)

We should just trade down all our players and get every pick in the 5th round.
More is better right?

People need to calm down and stop pretending they know what's best.

While I agree some of the reactions are a bit over the top, I would argue that the passion and emotion like this (needs to be kept tasteful obviously) is one aspect that makes CP such a great fansite.

When was the last time a Finnish first rounder made a strong impact in the NHL? Really... its been years. Mikael Granlund looks close, but really there has been very few.

It is entirely possible teravainen falls to 21, Collberg was the concensus vote on CP. He will be available, even maybe into the second round Given the instability of this draft.

Because the owners didn't want to pay Kotalik to play in Europe for a year.

Interesting to see that Teuvo has fallen this far..... guy was expected to go top 7. Must be something up with him that the actual scouts (not CP armchair scouts) see as an issue.
That said, I still hope they go skill at 21. Jankowski certainly is intriguing.
