I'll wait until 21 before I leave my final comments.
But I have faith in Weisbrod and Feaster to know what they're looking for. I guess they weren't high on Teuvo, and apparently not many others are either.

Wow. Not what was expected.
Weisbrod must have signed off on this
I don't get it just like I didn't get the love for what buffalo gave us in the last trade with their team.
If we're going to make a move like this, surly we can jettison a bad contract as well

Talk about overreaction. Nothing wrong with that trade.

But we've been following this hardcore for 48 hours! We have isolated the kids we wanted to draft on Wednesday! And the guy that was listen by TSN at 8 is now at 14!
This is horrible!

They must have confidence in their scouting. Detroit still hasn't picked yet but I'm sure they'll even get something interesting!

To be fair, those scouts have been wrong more often than not in Flames' recent history, no?

Feaster is probably reading this thread on his blackberry and thinking to himself "man, this is fun! What should I do next?"

I agree.
Second round picks are overrated as an asset. Just pick the damn player you want and don't screw around.
Do you know what screwing around gets you? Kris Chucko instead of Travis Zajac...

Flames taking Collberg. My choice and IIRC this boards poll winner. I'd be happy with that.

Well, for all we know, there is, in fact, a better player available, and this will come back to bite the Flames. On the other hand, for all we know, it won't matter. Have to wait to see in order to judge it, but if some are going to criticize (not specifically you) fans for being upset Feaster didn't get so and so player because it's basically a guess if they'll be better than anyone else at this point, they also can't make the judgement that all players are now equal, as it's just as much a guess.

It depends... its possible one of the guys they really like is going to fall to 21. If so, it is a great trade for the Flames.

We need a center. I don't much like the trade but... maybe we'll still be able to pick up Gaunce. Or Teravainan. Or however you spell it..

Reactions here make CP look bad as a whole.
Nobody here knows what the teams list looks like - obviously they didn't want Terevainen that badly for them to make the trade.
First 14 picks so far should be a lesson to everyone that teams lists are WAY different than what magazines/experts say.
People need to calm down and stop pretending they know what's best.

what does moving Kotalik do?
1. frees a roster spot
2. frees salary
I dunno, this may be about more than this draft
