I understand how the franchise tag works, you just can't use that as your argument to say he's not an elite back when elite backs on your list get the same treatment. What player doesn't want a long term deal????????????????? Of course they're gonna try and do what's best for themselves. You've gotten off your topic and onto something else completely.

I'm confused

I don't think Forte is in Ray Rice's league, so the Ravens get more 'value' from franchising Rice than the Bears do Forte

but rather than lose him for nothing right now I think franchising both is the right move since both teams can afford it

That would be applicable if you had posted it when it was relevant. As it is it just continues to demonstrate that you're a dumbass.

And now, former Colts C Jeff Saturday officially has agreed to a deal with the Green Bay Packers. Nice Packers pickup.

Good pickup for the Packers. Adds leadership to the offense

Broncos sign Joel Dressen, a very solid move and can't wait to see him flourish with the chance to again be the #1 Tight End option

I don't know anything about him. What should we expect from him?

He is a really solid player. He was consistent for the Texans in pretty much every aspect that you hope for from a TE. He doesn't really excel in any category, but he blocks fairly well, catches fairly well, moves fairly well, and seems to be a good teammate. I really like the player and there is a chance he could have a career year with Peyton throwing him the ball and no longer having Owen Daniels ahead of him on the depth chart.

Edit: He was also a nice red zone target for us as he was good at using his size and finding open pockets.

Sounds like a solid signing. Hopefully him and Julius Thomas can impress with Manning as their QB

Some LB movement. RT @Ravens: Ravens have re-signed free-agent inside linebacker Jameel McClain.
Great to see him back

Locker's always shown flashes though. He only threw 66 balls last year - essentially two starting games worth. He might have made the big progress or he could have done just like he did with the Huskies where he'd look brilliant for stretches and then have games where his mechanics fail him and he overthrows everyone. The increased practice time of the NFL schedule over NCAA restrictions likely helped him immensely though.

Couple more things from Colts news:

Ryan Diem has retired after 11 seasons.

Mike Pollak has signed with Carolina.

PS.....Good on Saturday for signing with Green Bay. A real class act.

Denver reached agreement on a three-year, $9 million deal with former Colt Jacob Tamme, who will be reunited with Broncos Peyton Manning.

Broncos took Jets offer over Jags based on Tebow's preference. The Jets offer wasn't as good as Jacksonville's.

Congrats Bronco fans. You are going to LOVE Jacob Tamme. Good hands and he is a smart player and learned so much from Peyton.

Man, after watching Andrew Luck's pro day, I am so excited to have him on the Colts soon. An elite talent and such a classy guy!

That actually might be a pretty good fit for the Colts. Stanton is obviously familiar with the pressure and changes that a highly touted QB will be facing from his time behind Stafford, could be a good guy to mentor him in that respect.
