The camera is much better. The video is to show how fast the 4S is. Considering the 4 is a fast device, the 4S is double the speed in some things.

Rogers recently rolled out LTE networks in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal so that's 4G.
iPhone 4S does not have "4G like speed."
From: http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/04/a...note-liveblog/
iPhone 4S uses HSDPA not LTE and from the keynote, it has a "theoretical download speed" of 14 mbps which isn't even close to theoretical LTE speed.
Edit: Interesting speed comparison. According to the keynotes, iPhone 4 is capable of 7.2 mbps download, on the actual network, I just logged 1.3 mbps so there's quite a gap between "theoretical" and actual download speed on these phone.

As far as speed goes though, I can handle waiting 7 seconds and opposed to 3.5 for Angry Birds to load up. I'm not trying to be all negative about the 4S, it's just the speed thing doesn't impress me enough to go out and buy it. I guess if I didn't just upgrade from the 3G to the 4 this summer, I'd be more interested.

Yeah. I have a 4 and can't see myself buying the 4S. Was tempted, because it's a shiny new product, but won't be buying it...(i hope for my sake at least). Siri looks cool, but other then while driving I think most tasks are faster by doing it myself!
Edit: I should note, if I used the camera a lot, i would probably get it. But I don't!

I need help. Just bought an ipad2 and I would like to know how I can use Icloud to share music and apps with my wife's iPhone. We have two different apple id's. Is that possible?

Doubt it. It's one of the main advertised features of the iPhone 4S. But, who knows. Jailbreak wise it definitely will, imo.

Well that settles it. Gonna have to spend 700 bucks to replace my iPhone 4 that was just replaced under warranty last week. Can't not have a feature I will only use 3 or 4 times, and never use again.

I'm not sure if jailbreak community can bring Siri to iPhone 4 considering that the processing is done on servers owned by Apple.

The apple Q4 conference call is on Tuesday. I wonder if they'll address initial sales numbers for the 4S. Should be interesting regardless.
http://www.appleinsider.com/articles...n_records.html
It took only four hours for Sprint to break its previous one-day sales record after starting nationwide sales this morning.
While AT&T has yet to announce sales numbers, the company did confirm that a record number of iPhones had been activated as of 4:30 p.m. ET launch day. The company released a statement saying that is "is on-track to double (its) previous record for activations on a single day."
Apple's next-generation handset has been so popular that, due to the high number of activations, AT&T saw server issues, with customers receiving a message saying that their activation was "pending."

There's been UDID (device) fakers for a long time, so jb'ers can easily trick servers into thinking its a 4S. One developer has started the initial port to the iPhone 4 Already. He's working on the server authentication right now :P

Haha wow that was fast. But yeah I guess they started but that doesn't mean they will finish it so I guess we'll have to see if it will be possible or not.

He got it working right now, but only for the talking to it stuff. None of the requesting authentication stuff (i.e. siri searching for stuff). The dev doesn't have a 4S yet, which he kinda needs for that stuff :P

What kind of stuff is working right now? I dunno, I would assume that the Apple engineers would've anticipated that the jailbreak community would attempt to break Siri from 4S and since the language processing is done on Apple's server they could easily deny access to non 4S devices similar to how the game servers can deny connections that doesn't have valid game key.

Apparently it's recognizing voice commands, and the keyboard dictation view is there and what not.

Interesting. I guess I'll have to wait and see the final result before judging. But I think a good comparison between jailbreaking a device and games would be like single-player games, which can always be cracked by removing the authentication for key check but whenever you have to connect to a server (such as battle.net) with a valid key, you can't crack the key. Since Siri requires Apple's server to actually do the work, I'm skeptical that the jailbreak community can get it fully functional.
