I got an iMessage from a friend that I didn't have a number for in my contacts on my iPad, so all I saw was his phone number. After figuring out who it was, I turned to my Mac, and updated his contact info in Outlook, as I didn't have his cell number. I turned back to my iPad, and it had already changed the name of the person I was iMessaging with from their cell number to their full name.
Freaky fast and efficient - I didn't have to exit iMessage, reload it, refresh or anything. It just updated.
Coming from Blackberry, I can see why this phone blows you away. But I have no idea why someone with an iPhone 4 would need to switch to the 4s today, or ever. The upgrades seem slight, especially with speed, and while Siri is neat, it's not a feature I would ever use.
But I've stopped trying to understand hardcore Apple fans long agao.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the difference is between iphone 4 and the 4s to be honest this phone has blown me away. TSN videos play without the 30 second ads. CP loads almost instantly. BB would need about 10 seconds before every page.
The price difference between an iphone 4 and the 4s was only $50 dollars for me so I thought if I ever wanted to re-sell the phone down the road the value would hold better if I had the newer version so it made sense to get the 4s.
Also, how do I get siri? I've heard about it but can't find it on my phone.

Ya, I think as a first iPhone this is a wise choice. I am keeping my iPhone 4 though, and not upgrading. I love apple products and all, but this one I will sit out. It looks the same, and I won't use a Siri especially a limited one in Canada.
Yes it is faster, but I don't game on my phone, I game on my iPad. So is it going to make Safari that much faster vs. the price?
So yes, I will save my money for the iPhone 5 in June. That or if Android comes out with a better phone, I may jump on that bandwagon. For now I will sit and wait....
The thing that bothers me about iMessage is this scenario, that I encountered while running the beta firmware.
My friend has an iPad that he loaded the beta on. We used that to send some iMessages back and forth.
So now, when I go to try and text him, he doesn't get my texts because it automatically tries to send it via iMessage regardless of the fact that I'm really trying to text him. If in fact he's getting the text message, I don't know that's the case because it defaults to iMessage. This is one of those things where there should be a definite switch to let me decide if I want to text my friend or send him an iMessage.
So as I understand it he has an iPad but not an iPhone? I see that could be an issue. I guess you would just have to make sure you're messaging with the green (sms) bubbles and not the blue (iMessage) ones. In that scenario I'd probably never iMessage him.

I tried to text him.. it defaulted to iMessage because his contact info had his iMessage account referenced.

That speed difference seems pretty marginal to me. Are those videos supposed to be showing us how amazingly fast the 4S is, or how it is very similar to the 4?
