Same reason why Best Buy came to Canada when it already owned Future Shop?

Last week picked up.
2 Bananana Republic sweaters

Took a few of the items to get tailored and the total cost for everything, with the tailoring, came to just under $70.00.

You're going to get laughed at pretty hard if you end up working in investment banking!

I'm guessing he'll be buying new clothes if he were to start working in investment banking. I'll also guess those new clothes won't be coming from Wal-Mart.

If J Pold is what it takes to be an I-banker, then clearly it doesn't take what it used to to get into that field. I will have also lost all faith in capitalism.

Marshall's and TJ Maxx are pretty much exactly the same. I have a Marshall's and a TJ Maxx both down the street from my house and I can go from one to the other, they have the exact same merchandise (Here it's lots of local stuff, KU, KState). Same company, and the commercials are for both (People walking around the mall 'smarter than the mall shoppers' because they are holding either TJ Maxx are Marshall bags.) Both stores have fantastic deals, but I don't know why they have two different names. Maybe they'll consolidate into one name like TJ-Shalls or Marsh-Maxx?

The biggest question will be with the unionized workforce. Will the unions stay with Target? Not if Target has a say in it. That was what always held Zellers back...

Obviously haven't seen the actual agreement, but from what I've read, Target has just bought the leases to the Zellers stores; they want nothing to do with Zellers itself or any of its history or brands. I would assume they wouldn't be forced into a CBA with Zellers' union, but crazier things have happened.

+1
The deal was a lot of work with many landlords to buy only the leasholds, but the point is it effectively zero-rates the union. They'll have to work to unionize all the target stores, and I expect (and hope) Target will have the union busting balls of Walmart.

The debate of 1 person vs 50 on being poor/ having no style if purchasing clothes at walmart or zellers.
I think its a matter of being dumb vs smart. Who in the world wouldnt pick up socks, underwear, undershirts, plain vnecks and other stuff from these places when it is 1/10th of the cost. Granted we all have that pair of special underwear we paid a few extra bucks for but still...

I shop there too on occasion and I'm not either - I was using hyperbole to illustrate the fact that the Westbrook walmart is not a good example of a clean and modern walmart...it still looks a bit like the woolco that was there.

How much does it cost to ship a class these days? I haven't shipped one in years...
