They needed to win and despite the obvious effort, they couldn't get it done. I am going to give this team 4 more games before I give up on them.

Get off the bus and makeroom for the fans who will never give up on the Flames.

My team's skaters couldn't play much worse, especially in the D-end...but I have rarely seen better goaltending in a game, and I have been watching hockey since Glenn Hall was in net without a mask!
I think it is wrong to blame Kipper...your guys cannot be so wasteful of glorious chances, Kipper should have had a cushion to work with.

Only delusional people could blame the loss on Kipper tonite. He made 2 HUGE 2 on 1 saves in the 3rd period. The Flames would have gotten 0 points tonite.

Losing is losing. No excuses coming from Hartley or the team. Another loss in a 48 game schedule is another step away from the playoffs.
Bad teams lose games they shouldn't, good teams win games they shouldn't.

I am not blaming him for the loss tonight, but the fact remains that he has been outplayed by the oppositions goaltender in EVERY game this season.
You are no going to win many games if that is the case.

Don't try that with Henrik Lundqvist. You'll go crazy after.

They DOMINATED these guys overall, the leadership was clearly evident all night long.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. Chicago finds ways to put pucks in and get it done on limited chances. We require full domination to muster up 2 goals. Self explanatory, one team full of winners like Hossa find ways to get it done on limited chances, one team finds ways to fire pucks wide on empty nets all night. One equals clutch, the other equals choke.

Flames should be in favour of larger nets because the current size owns them.

I think they were all high blocker side too, unless I'm confusing him with someone else. Anyway, it wasn't a terrible attempt by him. Not like he just closed his eyes and shot it in the goalie's chest.
Shootouts are silly. I don't mind losing that. What was awful was the lack of finish throughout the game and the pants-crapping defense in the final 30 seconds of regulation.

So you'd prefer to ice a team that gets dominated all night long but squeaks out an undeserving win?
That is not a formula that will take you deep into the playoffs.

It's evident that this team is simply not made up of winners. We have a losing culture now and it needs to be expelled. We find ways to lose, not win and have done for a few years now.
How do you out shoot hem that badly and lose? How do you get a lead with 30 secs left and blow it? How do you have a full 4 on 3 in OT and not find a way
Losing culture, that needs to be addressed at the leadership level of this team. It's not not something you can analyze with stats, but anyone who has played any competitive sport knows its real. This team is not a winning group, and needs to be re worked.

Hell of a game but again they didn't do what they had to do to win. I dont care if you get a 5 minute major with 2 seconds left, you don't let them score.
