It actually doesn't bother me. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, lol.

Otherwise, the other question would be, is your system on when you power the monitor up and it displays the startup for you? Maybe change over to the other cable if it isn't dvi(if possible)

I've tried turning the cpu on first and vice-versa, makes no difference. I don't have another cable although I know there is another spot for a different one.

Loose connection with the power cord? those NEMA5-15P connectors are sometimes hard to tell if you have it in all the way.

I've checked it, it should be okay.

Does the monitor sleep properly and come back on?

I have it set to turn off after 10 minutes. If I understand what you mean by sleep, it will turn off and the led will blink? It doesn't make a difference as whether I turn it off manually or it shuts itself off, it still makes me power on and off again and again to get it to stay on. It does seem to be that the longer the monitor has been off, the longer it takes to get it going again. The problem seems to be gradually getting worse as now when it shuts itself off I have to power on and off a time or two to get it going whereas when this started occuring it would come back on the first time.

Other things, like is whatever system you have up and running already on?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Thank you for your help.
