I'm not sure why I hate myself enough to go back to this grind but I have people at work playing old guildies coming out of the woodwork. I played on an emulated server recently to get back up to speed and man its a slow grind.
Average player playing 3-5 hours a day 4-5 days a week will take a month to hit only level 40.

With that said if anyone is playing feel free to join us on Whitemane PvP server Horde side character Dangeross

Yeah reluctantly going to give it a go, really curious if I will get the deep nostalgia feels with lots of old guildies coming back for this, many of them gave up on WoW some time ago so this should be interesting.

A lot of people I know will be playing; we're going to hard oldschool and RPPVP on Grobbulus. Personally I find the old-school grind tedious and boring, but at least PvP is really good in Vanilla.

When I saw this, I was hoping it was a MMO built on the really old Warcraft top down concept.

But this is just a dialback of WOW right?

Damn. They really are going all out on the vanilla experience.

All they need now is a few server crashes and then free 7 and 30 day subscription extensions to make it truly authentic to the 2004 original!

I was in queue on Fairbanks from 530 to 1030 last night. I only got through 2/3 of the queue before I gave up

I loved WoW when it came it out - nothing has equaled gaming wise that initial experience for me. That being said - the game has only become more and more user friendly and I can't imagine wanting to go back to a time of when it wasn't.
I fear this is 100% nostalgia based and will die out pretty quickly.

it's not about user friendliness and convenience. It's about a multiplayer, community experience that is completely nonexistent in virtually all other "MMOs" right now.

I've always thought about getting back into it, but echoing another posters sentiments, I'm afraid of too much of my life passing me by, should I do. Having a job, a family, and a life now trumps sitting in front of my computer grinding and questing for 4-5 hours a day... Plus my wife would kill me. lol. I remember when I was playing and we were only dating, I'd come home from hanging out with her, feigning sleepiness, only to play from 1am to 6am daily... It wasn't healthy.

I honestly think the only way a functional adult can play WoW in 2019 is if their spouse also plays WoW.

I mean it depends though. If you want to experience end game content then sure. But I know a ton of functional adults that watch 1-3 hours of tv per day. Sub in WOW if you so please.

I leveled to 7 this morning for fun, not sure how much I can play but did enjoy actually having to group with other people for quests, seeing everyone buff each other while they run by, the feel of a community is what I missed most from the old days when you just had your server, no instances, no LFG LFR, you had to actually make friends and communicate.
