So I was browsing the web looking for some cool headphones to get my Sister for Christmas and I came across this store in Vancouver called "Experience Headphones". They seem to only sell higher end trendy headphones.

Does anyone have any experience ordering from them online? Or any advise on what brands to look for/stay away from?

Here is their website.

http://experienceheadphones.com/

Thanks

That's a clothing/accessory store. They carry no high-end headphones or even good brands.

If you want something cool looking that don't sound awful I'd check out V-Moda. The Apple Store carries them.

MickMcGeough - 2 things

First - did you even view the website? They don't sell any clothing at all. Only headphones. The company name is Experience Headphones.

Second - V-Moda? For his sister? Could you really imagine a girl wanting a pair of those techy-gamer headphones for Christmas? Doubtful.

KAI - Check out the Frends line that they have on their site. Hugely popular with the girls these days and selling like crazy. Techcrunch has a great article on them: http://techcrunch.com/2013/11/23/gif...y-fashionista/

Happy shopping!

That's interesting.

Never seen someone sign up for CP solely to pump their website.

Oh wait...

Hi PYB274, welcome to the tech talk forum.

1) Yes, I visited the website. They're a style/fashion accessory business. I know this because they told me:

Quote:
We started this store in July of 2013 because we wanted to create a space where Canadians could find highly fashionable headphones...
They have a community poll where they ask what the most important feature of headphones is. Choices:
- Style
- Comfort
- Quality
- Price

That tells me that if sound is important, I'd best look elsewhere.

If they carried any one of Sennheiser, Audio-Technica, AKG, PSB, Shure, Etymotic, or Beyerdynamic (hell even Denon or Sony) I'd concede that there was at least a possibility that they're in the business of selling audio equipment. But they don't and they aren't. They're selling fashion accessories.

2) ETA: I removed the V-Moda recommendation since I think this request was just Astroturfing.

But hey, those "Frends with Benefits" headphones are well reviewed by GoddessGaia, molly6708, and tacoprincess on Nordstroms, so I'm sure they're worth $250.

Ah whoops thanks Rathji, didn't even put that together.

Hey Experience Headphones guy - also you should fire your web guy/girl. It's 2013 and you opened a business with a website that both isn't responsive and disables zooming for anybody that uses those fancy new gadgets like smartphones and tablets. Ask him/her why they would ever choose to do this and then slap them, please. That's bush league stuff.

Oh my god the CEO of Experience Headphones is a web guy (kind of): http://deanhorsfield.com/recent-design/

I really, really hope the CEO did that site himself.

This just keeps getting better.

ETA: Just hours after this post, the site was taken down...

Clarity One headphones / buds or GTFO. Simply amazing.

Take it from a guy that used over 25 different brands in my 10+ years DJing.

And - the business has one positive review on tripadvisor, written by the CEO as if he were a customer.

ETA: Just hours after this post, the review was taken down...

Well, you certainly got the "kind-of" part right...

So I did order a pair of the Frends headphones. They were shipped to me free and arrived in only a few days. To be honest they look very cool and the sound quality is really good. I have nothing but good things to say about the whole buying experience, when I called the store I spoke directly to the CEO and he was very helpful.

My sister would never wear the V-Moda headphones, I think experience headphones definitely fills a void in the market place. Obviously they are not going to appeal to everyone, but I guess nothing really does.

The hell? Did some one dig up a dormant account to pimp their own site? And then rejoin CP to agree with themselves?

No, but PYB274 does appear to be pretending to be a 3rd party when they aren't.

This is classic. The CEO's web design site has been taken down, and the fake review on TripAdvisor was taken down too.

The guy is at work on Quora too. Awesome.

ETA: Haha he's also the co-founder of Good News Weekly, which he of course pimps like he's not associated.

ETA: Haha the fake Quora response was taken down just after this post too! Awesome.

So funny. Next up, the wannamaker headphone!

Seriously though, mick knows his stuff here. We've beaten this topic in other threads pretty badly. Lots of great options these days. I've yet to experience the experience and will likely pass

IMO, it was almost definitely not legit.

I don't necessarily think they're the same person, but they definitely know each other.

Experience Headphones' CEO led the charge against some wrongdoings against Professor Dube at U of C and launched a petition website. KAI posted on CP to promote the petition.

Coincidentally, KAI posts a link to that CEO's website in what looks like a legit request 3 days ago.

Today, KAI posts that he already has the headphones, spoke directly to that CEO and that he was very helpful, and goes on to promote Experience Headphones even more.

I call shenanigans. KAI - you should have left it alone after that first post. Please don't pollute my favorite tech forum with this.

Yeah, when I buy Christmas presents for my sister, I always open them up and try them out.

LOL, this thread is so transparent.
