The first rule about Lina’s is we don’t talk about Lina’s, the parking lot is packed enough as it is.

I've been to City Market about 30 times, and I think maybe 2 times there was more customers than staff....
It was never going to last.

You like AA meat? Well I guess you have a stronger jaw than me.

Co-op is pretty good. Sobeys is fine. Save On is fine. RCSS is terrible.
I bought some deli meat at Jan's, it was fantastic.

Anyone know which major tenants will be occupying the "Shops of Buffalo Run" adjacent to the Tsuu Tina Costco? Lot of grading activity happening there.

Mostly the usual so far:
https://retail-insider.com/retail-in...-near-calgary/
ETA the usual being Dollarama, THo's, Vietnamese, Burrito, dentist, chiropractor. Will be great to visit in addition to Costco runs. That Costco was great until it got discovered! Still oddly the most convenient to inner city NW.

What I seem to remember about Grandma Lee's is a bunch of whole wheat bread with alfalfa in it. I remember thinking that's the last place I wanted to eat as a child.

It looks like the Costco only has regular and premium gas. No Diesel? Why is there only one Costco (East Hills) in the city that carries Diesel? Seems like even the Airdrie one doesn't which makes no sense to me. Should be a lot of trucks around these areas on the outskirts.

I hope that doesn’t mean the existing Happy Cup is moving. It’s nice to have a place like that the kids can ride their bikes to.

Not surprised to hear about city market. Just an odd choice in the area to have a high end supermarket
Should've hire the people who scouted and set up Urban's Fare location on 16th and 8th street. Or deep south where the rich white people live

Their 3 Loblaws in Vancouver are in downtown and North Vancouver area. So yeah, it's weird that they would pick a far north suburban area to do their only shop in Calgary. They need to be in the spots where shoppers prefer Urban Fare and Sunterra's.

Was driving down 52 street SE, and there's a bunch of new stores being built in Mahogany. I noticed a new McDonald's but it didn't look like it had a drive thru. I don't think it was open yet.

Maybe they'll just knock down a couple of walls so you can just drive right through the restaurant.

I am thinking that it is a Craft/National-like bar as well. Will be nice to have a large, non-Edmonton based bar that serves only macro beers and deep fried garbage at inflated prices because they have a roof-top patio.
