If you don’t like injuries than sports isn’t for you. Awful that it happened but anyone who sees that play and thinks Tkachuk actually had the vindictiveness and wherewithal to injure Scheifele are wanting there to be someone to blame. Of course when you slow it down it looks worse but full speed it’s clear as day and shame on Maurice for throwing Tkachuk under the bus like that. Dirt bag move

I don't see anything in the replays to support Maurice' position and he should have to answer for his bull#### comments.
If the Jets really believe Tkachuk did that on purpose I can see this series getting out of hand very quickly.
At what point does it start to become defamation? Seriously. And that includes that useless piece of #### Staples too.

Defemation lol. Yikes. Can't you just enjoy the win? Let Maurice whine. It's his job to create a distraction. On purpose or not, a player with a well deserved reputation kicked and sliced the Jets best skater and took him out. Is it so shocking theres a reaction?

Lol.
Why is every so butthurt over Maurice? You want him to get over it, but you guys need to also get over it. There's a real victim complex tone coming from this thread.
Neither Tkachuk, nor the team, need you to defend them.
Enjoy the win. It was awesome!

Kicked. Nice. His foot hit the other guy. His hand touched him too, was he throwing a punch at the same time? If he would have just taken the hit, it wouldn't be an issue.

This is exactly why, because the sheep like you just lap it up like it's the truth and from here on out people who can't think for themselves will run around flapping their lips about the time "Tkachuk kicked Schiefele" even though it isn't true.

"Kicked and sliced"?
You're not helping the hyperbole.

Lots of people are all over the Giordano cross-check to Leine's arm.
Like similar whacks don't happen about 30 times a game, so sad what's happened with the NHL.
No word on the kneeing attempt by Eakin though. Cool

Well deserve reputation of what? Player that injures others? That's BS. He is a dirty pest but he is no Cooke, Torres or Kassian.
Edmonton media did quite the job of making MT a head hunter.

Exactly. Tkachuk hits Kassian with a bunch of CLEAN body checks, Kassian flies off the handle like the brainless dooshbag he is but all the mouth breathers remember is how Tkachuk was the dirty one. I guess if you hear bullcrap enough times you start to believe it, especially if you WANT to believe it.
Same thing will happen here.

Maybe you should be whining about your player making a risky move to not take a hit, causing his own injury? The whole narrative about the skate doing damage is bull####. If it was the skate there would have been damage to the sock. There would have been evidence of cut. There certainly would have been some blood to show for Tkachuk's "amazing surgical skills." The reality is that Scheifele went hard into the boards and made a risky turn that put a lot of stress on his leg and it caused what looks to be an Achilles rupture. Unless Tkachuk spent some time Haiti learning some serious voodoo bloodless surgery, the skate narrative holds no water.

Its a fairly prominent storyline coming off a game played less than 12 hours ago. For people to go on a discussion forum designed for community conversation and dedicated to the Calgary Flames to offer opinions on topic is in fact quite natural.
I appreciate you are of the ilk to get over it and move on, however, don’t go outside when it’s raining if you don’t wish to get wet. People are just discussing the game. Validate your stance when enough time has passed from the incident to support your statement. Its the morning after my friend. And this is a hockey forum.

I'm upset at Maurice because he is attacking a Flames player and the media is running with it. Even during the intermission the only voice of reason was Cassie who mentioned it looked like with the speed he went into the boards his toe cap hit and twisted his ankle/knee. Now as a cover because the team shat the bed, the the story going around is Tkachuk kicked and sliced Scheifele.

The injury was 30 per cent Tkachuk’s borderline dirty contact with Schiefle in a vulnerable position, 30 per cent Schiefle’s unwise reaction to that contact, and 40 per cent bad luck.

Yeah this whole "kicked and sliced" narrative has a real "shock and awe" vibe about it.
He neither kicked nor sliced.....period.
Just a ridiculous stance for anyone, (nevermind an NHL HC), to take. Then to continue with it in the face of the video evidence is beyond absurd.

The hit was going to be a second or two late, so in that respect, it could be viewed as borderline; however, the hit itself would have been fine. Those kind of "late" hits happen 10 times a game though, and it's pretty clear that Scheifele saw it coming, as he tried to steer out of it.
