Sveningson again. Feel like he’s got some offensive upside.

Sveningsson might be the only forward left on this list with a top 6 potential.

Yelesin is the best player on the list right now. All star in the KHL at 22 and as a RHD is probably the most valuable piece. Plays a North American style
Once Stone and Brodie are gone (within the next year) I see a spot for him if he adapts his game.
I doubt some of the guys leading the poll even get NHL contracts unless they boost their numbers

I am just going to keep spamming Sveningsson stuffs. Of all players under the age of 21 in the Allsvenskan his 27 in 43 games was top of the league for points and he was only 19.
https://www.eliteprospects.com/leagu...8-2019?age=u21
He was also at the top for all drafted players in that league.

No love for Ruzicka yet hey? 51 points in 38 games last year after getting dealt at the deadline. 6'4 200 pound center that can skate and has skill in spades. Cory Stillman his junior coach raves about him and thinks he has what it takes to be a 1st line center in the NHL.
Will be fun watching him round out his game in the AHL this year. Definitely flying a bit under the radar here. Honestly I think Ruzicka, Koumontzsiz, and Yeselin are all better prospects than little Z. I think CP has gotten too enamored with small skilled guys this year ie) Z, Phillips, Petterson.
Not that they are bad prospects, but some bigger guys are getting overlooked a tad by comparison.

It's worth mentioning then that Ruzicka already has a contract with the Flames too, which makes him one step closer than most of these guys left.
I expect Roman to go pro this year too, but we will see I guess.

Out of 25 NHL drafted prospects in the Swedish 2nd division mens league, Sveningsson was 1st in points with 27 points in 43 games. Helped his team earn a promotion to the SHL. For a 7th round pick, hard not be happy with his draft + 1 year. Hopefully he keeps progressing this upcoming year.

For me it's Koumontzis, Sveningsson, then I'm less sure. Zagidulin, Yelesin or Roman maybe?

Good point, kind of forogt about him.
Ruzicka seem to had issues showing up every game with the Sarnia Sting. Had a terrible playoffs two seasons ago, but the change of teams last season really helped him for whatever reason.

Stillman even goes so far to say that Ruzicka has the potential to stick with the big club as soon as this year. That would be a stretch, I think, but pretty high praise.
Quote:
"Whether he jumps right into the NHL or he needs a year in the American league to understand the grind against bigger, stronger guys and that everyone's fighting for their lives every day, I guess we'll see," says Stillman.
"But if he goes to camp and shows he understands the requirements right away, his skill level's going to keep him at the National Hockey League level.
"If he puts his mind to it, if he's committed to excelling every day - and I certainly saw that while he was with us - you have yourselves a great fourth-round pick there."

I kept meaning to ask about him on these threads... I didn’t realize he went on such a tear in Sudbury, that’s awesome... hopefully he has a monster season in Stockton. Is he a lock to play for the Heat this season, more or less?

Forgive me since I don't know much about any of the prospects below 5, but why is Gillies getting votes this early? He seems like a ideal candidate to be dropping to the mid to late 20s. Is he getting votes based on past rankings or is he considered a possible really late bloomer?
