Yeah the Flames won and it was a solid game from the team.
It's not just the critics that seem to want to dissect every single thing he does. It's exhausting.

Incredible how poorly he has played since coming to Calgary. Not from lack of trying, but what an awful contract we are stuck with!

What is an awful CP poster? A fan who is critical of anyone on the team?

Not only is Uberdough hurting the team cap wise, hes killing most his linemates and anyone he is getting put with on PP. Time for some popcorn and bring up more AHL guys.

Not hurting the team cap wise. What AHLer is being kept down because of him, pray tell?

Ones who are like a stuck record (you DO know what a record is....right? Sorry...but it's a question one has to ask these days LOL.)
I can think of a few here. Same tune, different post. Same tune, different day. Over and over and over.

well he is taking up >10% of the teams cap and producing at a soon to be 30 point pace with double digit ---- in the plus minus column
id honestly rather see anyone from the farm (id contemplate signing you up Gio for the spot I think your stat line would be better). Id like to give walker duehr his mins.

at this point whats the saying "let sleeping dogs lie?" or "lets call a spade a spade". We have seen 100+ games from him, its unreal but sadly I dont think he is helping us in nearly any capacity other then filling a roster spot. I'm all for the guy turning it around but but we have seen lots of bad deals in recent memory by the flames. Stone, Raymond, Brouwer, Stajan, Neal, Hiller, lets be honest JBouw and unfortunately it looks like Mangi sucks now.

Who were they unable to sign because of his cap hit this year?
Walker Duehr has had his chances this year. Have you watched him at all? Far more ineffective than Huberdeau at his worst. Talk about not doing what got you there - no speed, no hitting, no forecheck.

I think there is something to be said about who we wont sign because of his cap hit. Hanifin, Lindholm, etc. These guys wanna get paid - hard to justify they aint worth it when your highest paid guy is going for a skate more often then not.

Unfortunately for Huberdeau, the Flames seem to have found some combinations which work well. Naz with the kids should stick and Sharangovich is also working with Lindholm and Mangiapane. Huska already spent the first quarter of the season mixing things up to get Huberdeau going, so I'd hope they keep things is. It's up to him now to bring his game.

Anyone. They could have given Max Domi a 1x$10M and come out ahead.
Should have traded Huberdeau for a prospect and pick while the bloom was still on the rose.
No one cares if you have a bad contract that’s expiring. We are stuck with this albatross deal for years.

Mangiapane isn't doing anything special on his line. Could move him off that like and it makes little difference.
I'd switch him and Huberdeau yesterday.

They could have signed Domi anyway. So you have no real life examples of anyone they were unable to sign?

I don’t know what we’re debating. You think Huberdeau’s contract is okay and you can’t dream up one better way to have used $10.5M cap space this year?
Flames are doing their best to hang in there - and good for them - despite this deal.

We are paying the same amount for Huberdeau, Mangiapane, and Markstrom as Colorado is for Makar and MacKinnon. That’s just not a way to build a team.

You said his cap hit is hurting the team. I said, at this moment, tell me how that is? This team is rebuilding. It is not trying to sign any big salary players. So right now, as overpaid as he is, Huberdeau’s cap hit has pretty much no effect on what the team is doing right now.
And no, he’s not preventing a re-signing of players like Lindholm or Hanifin.
