Zero points and minus three in the last 10 games. That is extremely depressing.
Star players don't go that long without points...

Got names?
I thought the signing was basically pointless. He's just in the mass of fungible players that get replaced every few years.

This guy has so mentally checked out, just floating around the ice, he clearly does not want to be in Calgary....I think once he hits 34-35 you will see him on an LTIR retirement

Always fun seeing this thread get bumped after one of his best games in the jersey with "lazy, floating!" takes.
It's like some people don't even watch the games and just want to use Huberdeau as a scapegoat to funnel all their life's frustrations into lol.

Ah yes, zero points in 15 minutes of ice time. Really turning the corner I guess. At least he wasn't on the ice for any of the zero goals against.

He made a high skill bat out of midair that Dostal managed to just snag practically off his stick. Otherwise a sure goal. 7 SOG with no result, before finally opting to pass on a two on one and getting crapped on for it.

So you thought he was lazy and floating because he had zero points? Coleman had over 2 more minutes and zero points. Lazy and floating? Backlund had 18 minutes. Lazy and Floating. Hanifin 22. Same.

Points usually follow good play, but often not as soon as said good play. Yesterday he played well. That's the level of competitiveness you want to see out of him. If he continues that for any stretch of time, points will follow.
It has to start somewhere.

It's a double on tondur implying honeydew is metafour for huberdeau. You might be able to do this for Cantaloupe, but probably not with the name Huberdeau. But maybe for someone else.
For example, I might say, "Cantalopez is my favorite fruit because its so firm and juicy."
Did you want to give it a try?

Well I guess he's trying and getting no points.
Which is worse?
Whatever the reason, he just isn't putting up points. In a cap-limited league it's going to matter eventually.

I agree, I thought he had some really bad luck last night. I wouldn't complain about last night's game in isolation, and if he plays like that every night, the points would come. He was shooting more than usual, which is what he needs to do and I hope he sticks with it. He did have the one typical gratuitous give away that could have been problematic, but if he would have scored last night, no one would think about it.
I get the complaining about he overall production and play over the past 10 games though.

Of course it matters. His cap hit isn't an issue at the moment but in 4 years it will be if he isn't producing.
Would you rather he wasn'tt rying and getting no points though? I said it's a good sign. That's all. Often these slumps start to end with good effort and no points, which turns into good effort finally being rewarded.

This is a 112 game slump. A few shots on goal doesn’t mean much unfortunately.

True, it doesn't.
But the Flames won, and played well, and he played pretty well, other than not getting rewarded. Just seems like, with 112 games to choose from, this doesn't seem like one where he needs to be whined about.

Pointless in 10 straight now...but at 5v5 he's actually been on the ice for a team best xGF (6.72 xGF), Scoring Chance For (73), and High Danger Corsi For (35) over those 10 games.
That's while also being asked to play more of the tougher defensive minutes with the Backlund line while the Kadri line gets more of the cushy offensive minutes.
That line has been generating a lot of chances at 5v5 over the last 10 games but with no reward for it due to a 5.41% on ice shooting percentage.
Last night was easily his best game since the Dallas game on 11/30 (which was still his best game as a Flame IMO) but really the last three games he's shot more and has 11 shots over the last three games...after only having 4 total in the 7 games prior. So if he keeps shooting, and they keep generating chances as a line then points will come.

Its just like when a team is on a losing streak. They start to play well and don't get rewarded for it right away, but it comes soon enough.
