You don’t need to draft top three to win a lottery.
lol it was a comment about the Flames lack of draft luck. As in of course they've never won the lottery it's the Friggin Flames

Won a lottery? The Flames have never drafted top three. They've drafted inside the top five once.
And even then didnt do there homework and picked a guy that was hiding an injury. Wonder what could have been if we developed him properly because I dont think he ever really hit his ceiling.
This is really not the lottery to win. Add others have pointed out McKenna, Dupont and now Maddox Schultz the next 3 years.
Those are the draft lotteries the Flames want to win.

Lol cool that everyone wants us to be basement dwellers for the next 4 years all of a sudden. Would have been way smarter to do this this year.
Honestly don't expect it. The flames will spend money on mediocre dumb players instead of building properly. That's basically guaranteed.

Imagine how devastated we all would have been if the Flames sucked down the stretch and finished with the 9th overall pick odds, and then had the Islanders and Utah jump them and they fell back to 11 and gave the pick to Montreal

I think most people thought they'd be basement dwellers this year, but by the time the trade deadline came along that obviously wasn't happening and people just moved on to cheering for the playoffs instead of complaining about something that obviously wasn't happening.

I'm just glad that the conditions with the Monahan trade are one step closer to being complete. The only think left now is to find out where that Florida pick lands so we can finally turn that page.
I don't know why, but the outstanding conditions of those picks bothered me more than it probably should have.
I'm also glad to see a non-tanking team win the lottery, even if it wasn't us.

Bennett was the obvious choice at four

I think we really need to pick top 3 next year. I hope we trade Andersson and Kadri for extra 1st rounder for next 2 years. We don't need to be bottom team for 4 years or longer. Top 3 pick next year should give us top end C or D. And hopefully we find another star player from our other draft picks.
I think Cole Reschny might be that guy that ends up being a lot better than where he gets drafted. He is my hope for our pick. Such a mature kid with a fantastic 200 foot game as well.
