With the 5 win NFC South division champ dream now on life support (Atlanta and New Orleans need to tie to make it happen), this is the next preferred, utterly chaotic scenario. Insanity or what?

I don't know about that. Other guys who were far more outstanding at the position in the CFL couldn't even crack a NFL practice squad. Really Warren Moon, Dieter Brock, Doug Flutie, and Jeff Garcia are about the only QB's who ever played in the CFL who were of any significance in the NFL. Flutie actually started in the NFL and came to the CFL to salvage his career.
Others like Ricky Ray and Henry Burris were fringe level guys in the NFL.
To me Mitchel only had to be a care taker this year and let Cornish and the defense do their job and not screw it up. I don't see a CFL game manager being of much use in the NFL.

I think BLM likely has at least two more years in the CFL before possibly moving down south.
As Sylvan says he spent a lot of time making the simple plays this year and taking what was there because of defenses focusing on Cornish, but he also showed flashes of brilliance (like the first quarter of the GC) that show he could be a top guy and the focus of the offense himself.
I hope that next they take of the "reigns" a bit more and focus on BLM and the passing game and we get to see what he can do. But for his sake and the team that takes a chance on him in the NFL I would have him spend at least two more years developing and then bring him in as a more finished product ready to compete than a 3rd stringer trying to learn and leap frog guys already entrenched like what seemed to happen with Ray, Burris and DD.

Did Mitchell even get a combine invite when he was coming out of college? What were his NCAA numbers like?

Not sure about his numbers but he played two years at Eastern Washington (Division 1AA or FCS or whatever they call it now) and won a National Championship the first year and the Walter Peyton (their version of the Heisman) and a bunch of All-American teams in the 2nd year. So he was obviously a great player at that level but how that translates to the NFL doesn't seem overly impressive for QB's, although Romo, Flacco and Grappolo all came from that level I believe.
Edit: I think BLM is only 6'0 which obviously hurts him as well.

speaking of Stampeders. How come Jon Cornish never got drafted by the NFL? It seems he broke all the records at Kansas.

Dolphins season on the line against Geno Smith and they might be blown out of the building. This would easily supplant KC's loss to Oakland as the worst of the NFL year.

NFL season low 13 passes by Geno. What a statement about what they think about him.

I'm hoping the Browns go with Hoyer again this week only because I passed on picking Manziel up off waivers in fantasy football and my opponent this week grabbed him. Although if he had picked up Hoyer, I wouldn't be scared at all, which means they probably should go with Manziel.

Browns will go with Hoyer though you'd think he has a pretty short leash this week.

It was a terrible experiment. Putting a lacklustre team into a foreign market stadium and expecting to draw a crowd was pretty stupid.

And the Rogers Centre sucks as a football venue. (Actually, it just sucks in general since you can apply it to baseball too)
And the Bills suck.
I don't think it hindered the prospects of the NFL coming to Toronto at all. But realistically were at least a decade away from it becoming a serious event still. LA will most definitely get a team before Toronto, as well possibly London (don't like it) getting one before.

The Bills are the regional team in Toronto though. They have a large fanbase in Southern Ontario stretching into Northern Ontario. It's the reason I'm a Bills fan.
