2014 NFL Season
The MMQB’s 2014 Predictions Extravaganza
http://mmqb.si.com/2014/09/02/nfl-20...b-predictions/
Peter King - GB 30 - IND 23
Seattle’s the best team I saw in training camp (I saw 27 teams live), but with no Super Bowl winner in the last nine years going on to win a playoff game the next year, I sense a trend. Green Bay will get a lively Julius Peppers and a more durable Clay Matthews, along with a big-time secondary, to help Aaron Rodgers, who won’t have to score 33 points every week to ensure victory. Look out for Philadelphia, though. I see the Eagles winning home-field in a weakened NFC East, and they could be the team that gets hot down the stretch and takes advantage of playing at home to win the conference.

SI consensus pick is DEN over NO.

I love this time of year...
NFL kicks off, and hockey training camp just around the corner.
Continuing 2 decades of following sheer disappointment and failure...
Go Dolphins Go.

Interesting he has Indy in the Superbowl for the AFC. I think Andrew Luck is fantastic. Really he is the player I love on a team I freaking hate. He will rule the AFC when Manning and Brady are no longer around, but I wonder if he has enough support right now for his team to be able to get past the Division round of the playoffs. The Chiefs absolutely blew that game last year....but the Colts still gave up 87 points against in those two games, and KC played all but 4 plays of that game without Jamaal Charles.
Personally I think Denver still wins the AFC as their offence and defence are both pretty solid units. Especially if Von Miller can play all year. The NFC is tough to pick, but I'll go with Green Bay being better enough on defence with a healthy Aaron Rogers and them ultimately winning the Superbowl.

Yeah Denver seems head and shoulders above the rest of the weak AFC. The Chargers, Patriots, Ravens, and Colts may have an outside shot.
The NFC meanwhile has several contenders. The Seahawks, Saints, 49ers, and Packers all have solid Superbowl chances.
I'm ready for some football!!

Does anyone have a lead on a good NFL pick against the spread pool?

Could be worse....if I was old enough I'd be into my 5th decade of depression.

I think the AFC championship is the Broncos to lose this year. They're an even better team than last year on both sides of the ball
If Miller can stay healthy I honestly expect a DPOY for him, teams are going to have a hard time covering the stacked d-line
Quinton Carter back healthy is the most exciting part of this season for me, I loved his game. Having him in also lets them slot T.J. Ward in at the nickel and pass rush, much like Dawkins would. Apparently Ward can also play MLB quite well
Emanuel Sanders is probably the fastest player Mannings ever had to throw to outside of Harrison, so he could have a big year. I don't think Deckers going to be missed much with Sanders and Latimer replacing him
Pretty exciting year to be a Broncos fan again

Hard to go against the Broncos if Manning is healthy, and if they don't have to play a cold weather game in the playoffs.
The Broncos, Pats and Packers are all said to have improved defences.

Displaced as a Bronco fan shouldn't you already know what Molly is, seeing as that's the same thing Von Miller got accused of doing? Wonder if Von hooked him up.

I never heard that about Von. Just heard he diluted his sample.

Should be a good year!
The 49ers offense should be much improved this year with the addition of Stevie Johnson, Brandon Lloyd and rookies Bruce Ellington, Carlos Hyde to go along with returnees Michael Crabtree, Vernon Davis, Anquan Boldin and Frank Gore.
They also have one of the best O-lines in the league.
The defensive secondary is younger and is a bit of a question mark. But if the Niner's can stay afloat for the first 8 games they will get arguably two of their best defensive players back in Aldon Smith and Navarro Bowman. They will be well rested and ready to go and could make the 49ers dangerous in the 2nd half.
Looking forward to it!

niners have a lot of noise around them at the moment... if they get off to a bad start i think it could avalanche on them a bit here with the injuries, suspensions, poor camp, etc.
welker gone for the first month is pretty big, but likely gives him the inevitable rest he needed from the concussion.
