This would explain why there has been no contract negotiations.

Did he really get that good overnight or was it the league?
Granted he has improved every season that he had been in the KHL.
|
Or he could have gotten a bit older and a bit more comfortable with the pro game and then was able to use that new found confidence to improve even more.
He was 20-21 YO when he was over the first time...thats REALLY young for a starting G.

Dupuis plays great with Crosby. Sometimes a line is a lot more than just sticking a bunch of talented guys together. Chemistry matters - a lot.
When the Flames won the Cup, Colin Patterson was on the top line. And this was on one of the most offensively stacked teams in NHL history.

But then it had nothing to do with growing up in Vancouver per se. It's an odd way to qulaify the statement.
Would you say; "Growing up in Calgary, Gretzky was an idol of mine"...?

That makes me happy, because it tells me that Iginla isn't an ignorant dunce.
Abandon ship, Iggy!

Not a stretch at all. He probably meant it that he saw him play quite a bit because of the proximity to Calgary and being in the same division. Nothing wrong with the statement if you just take it contextually and not break it down.

I heard that with one season of timbits down, the 2024 draft is looking like the deepest since 2003.

This is not shocking news to some of us. Why would Iggy want to re-sign with a team that is going nowhere?
He has made it clear that he does not want to be part of a rebuild and he has already seen what Feaster can do with a re-tool. I highly doubt he wants to see what a 2nd re-tool will look like.

If I lived in an American city I might, because it sounds better than "growing up in Canada"

Haha np kidding, he would fit great on a wing with Malkin, move Neal to his natural LW and you got gold. Or move fish boy off the top line and put him there...so many options the pens could do...

Won't disagree with the age thing. I just find it funny that for some, Bernier is young has done a lot more in the NHL than Ramo did, yet don't see him as a franchise goaltender and think Ramo has a shot at it.

Who said that Bernier doesn't have the potential to be a franchise goalie and that Ramo does?
People are saying that we shouldn't be targeting a goalie with Iginla and that we have time to see how Ramo pans out because this team is not situated as such, that a franchise goalie is a priority.

The pressure on Feaster right now must be off the charts. Kind of feel bad for the guy, even though I want him gone.
