I think that's main forum thread worthy. What a bunch of scumbags the Knights are.

"oh crap, the team is way more popular locally than we originally anticipated and we need to clear some STH room. Let's just kick out all the out of state people who supported this franchise from day 1"

When they can't attend games, the Sullivans sell their tickets through Flash Seats — a site endorsed by the team. And, the team's website says that if season ticket holders are unable to attend a game they "will have access to sell or forward your tickets … through our designated ticketing system."
.... unless apparently you sell too many.

Probably time for this family to switch allegiance to the local team and become STHs in Calgary. Good opportunity to hop on the bandwagon!

I wonder how much they were selling the tickets for? That possibly could alter my sympathy for them. If they were just unloading tickets to recoup the face value and fees then fine, but if they were trying to make a profit and essentially scalp tickets, I really have no sympathy.

Maybe... but if I was scalping tickets and consequently had my seasons tickets revoked, I wouldn’t make a public stink about it.

Being that it's through the method suggested directly from the organization, I would presume they have rules about stuff like scalping.

It looked like the article was updated and shows they were selling them from between face value of $80 to $120. I don't know enough about their system, but if they didn't want scalping, the VGS shouldn't have partnered with companies that allow it.

I found it funny when people comment on it, and say that they weren't selling it through the an approved reseller, when all they have to do is search "Flash Seats" and it shows up.

I don't know, the Calgary Flames resale site allows season ticket holders to sell tickets for pretty much as much as you want to sell them for, I don't actually know what the Flames actual policy on that is though.

Just stood out to me, and kinda relates to the article, but it was just my observation.

Toxic Masculinity is actually bad for men. Not talking about your feelings, drinking, fighting, substance abuse, being a class clown, not getting a finger in your butt to make sure you don't have cancer because it's "gay". Men are their own worst enemies. There's a reason the life expectancy for men is lower than women.

If you ever need more proof of this, do a google for (a disgustingly huge amount of) guys who don't wash/wipe their ass because it's gay

I am more interested in the google search terms that led to such a discovery. Was this by happenstance or was there a reason to seek out wiping techniques? Somehow I am guessing it was the result of a Sliver thread.

Yeah, but it also conflates a bunch of things. I'm generally with you on your post, but how much of, for example, the delta between men and women getting into accidents and dying is caused by societal norms, and how much is caused by testosterone? How much of the gap in cancer deaths, or suicide, is the result of biological factors or genetics, and how much is learned behaviour? It seems obvious to me that this needs a more nuanced discussion than what is being had, and I'm not sure the term "toxic masculinity" is at all helpful in getting us to having that discussion.

My personal experience

Ya they revoked mine for playoffs/next year too. We are in the same boat, Vacation home/don't go to all the games, etc. Last year I just would post up all my games and they would slowly sell. If they didn't sell and somebody was down there at the time we would go. Personally went to 8 games, parents and friends went to about 10-15 more. Buy and go to playoffs expect round 2 & 3, sell round 2 at face, sell round 3 at STH price. So I am going to games, even bought extras for the 3 SCF games for others.

Anyways decide to do they same thing this season, put up all the games on the site they want (last year stubhub, this year flash seats). Well within a week I've sold 36 games. I sold all my games between $70-$110 (all below face, STH price is $70 USD) depending on the game. Get an email warning that I've violated the terms of my tickets so I call to follow up and ask what I did so I don't do it again. The rep told me they do not disclose their process. Well how am I supposed to not violate the terms if I don't know what I did wrong?

I have 5 games left for the time frame my family will be in Vegas. I get an email a little over a week ago saying I'm cancelled, even though I hadn't done anything else. I finally get the rep to admit that the "warning" was all fake and that there was nothing I could of done to not lose my tickets since they were already sold. They are gonna be in for an eye-opener when the down cycle hits the team and they don't quite have as many STH's. I only had one year left on my commitment so it wasn't a big deal, however missing out on guaranteed ticket for a potential Vegas vs Calgary playoff series would of been nice.

That can't be true.

And I'm not googling that on a work computer.
