A new coach bump with a third of the team playing for a new contract. The Flames will make the playoffs.

Well yeah Dom Luszczyszyn of the Athletic gives them a 71% chance.

71%? 70% isn't close enough for a wild guess?

I think we'll definitely see some growing pains during the first 10 games or so. CP will have a collective meltdown and post the usual "blow it up" comments and call for Huska to be fired, etc..
Then the team will eventually find their game, make the playoffs, and maybe even win a round or two, surprising everyone in the process. I believe!

No wonder Lindholm and Huberdeau don't work together well. They play like Ca-Ca!

I think this team has the talent to make the playoffs, but it will be a typical Flames roller coaster season! Some nights they will look like a top tier team, but will follow that up with duds where they look like cellar dwellers. Lindholm and Huberdeau getting significant opportunity to build some chemistry would be ideal towards making some strides.
They Flames need a shakeup, Conroy was a safe pick, Huska was a safe pick, Backlund was a safe pick. If the Flames want to take the next step they need to start being more business like. Bold steps are going to be needed to see this team progress further. I would suggest that Conroys trade Lindholm and Vladar to Florida for Sam Bennett. Bennett gets two years to prove he can be a top line center (Flames fans like me can pull out their Bennett Jerseys again...), I think the Flames get a value added center who has a track record with Huberdeau. And Calgary gets a couple careers years out of Bennet, maybe even leading to long term resigning? Another suggestion would be to send Hanafin and Ruzicka to Philidelphia in exchange for Travis Konecny. Mangiapane-Kadri-Konecny would be absolute fire! Tired of the Flames always middling by, make some moves get some fresh blood in and chase a cup!
I realize it's not as simple as that trade wise but I think it sends a bold message! No more Calgary Sames!

So before you snort whatever glue stick brand you prefer, do you dust it with crack or meth? That was the most excitable and asinine keyboard diarrhea I've ever read.
It's like someone programmed a Russian troll bot to have a 65 IQ and make flames trade proposals. The only thing this post was missing was bringing back Theo fleury on a PTO...again.

Seems a little harsh dude. That's a pretty brutal attack for not agreeing with someone's hockey opinion.

There is very little chance that the Flames are out of it by the March 1st trade deadline.
There is 23 Flames games to be played after that date.

Said barely miss the playoffs. Core of the team is one year older, they have the talent to stay in games but Edmonton, Vegas, LA, Colorado, Dallas, wild, kraken should be better. Maybe they squeak in in 8th.
