Markstrom and Vladar could play exactly the same (I doubt it) and the Flames make the POs by not coming within a game of the NHL record for OTLs.
17 OTLs - change it to 14 and the Flames are in.

It's a tweet from the same person that tweeted that the Flames could finish 2nd on the back of a rebound season from Huberdeau.
So basically it's Hackey being Hackey and making sure to immediately pour cold water on anything that resembles optimism about the Flames.

I don't have warm fuzzy feelings about this season and it's outcome for the Flames.

If they don’t do well it makes for easier decisions regarding pending ufas and they get another good pick
Win win

My concern with the Flames, reason I selected them to just miss.
They are lacking in terms of offensive side of the game,
This is the same issue they had last year.
Flames really need players to have rebound seasons,

True. I prefer winning to win-winning, but I'll take what I can get.

I worry about where the intensity is going to come from. Yeah Sutter was too much last season, but I wonder if the team will be a little more complacent and taking nights off. The only players I see really getting the team fired up are Kadri, Andersson and maybe Backlund. Hopefully that's enough. No idea if Huska has an intense side to him.

Zadorov? Weeger? Both of those guys play with a chip on their shoulders.

You onow the Flames aren't going to bead enough to get a top pick...the crappy thing is thay they won't be good enough to be contenders.
It's not win-win because they'll likely sign their pending UFA'S to bad deals and be stuck with the same team for a while.
But maybe this year will be different....

Think they're going to miss. It's been nagging me for a while but I'm beginning to suspect that overall team chemistry just isn't there.
That being said, happy to be wrong, I'm going to watch every game I can but expectations are set real low . Like I said, something just feels off about this squad.
Prediction: Coronato and Solovyov both are the bright gems this season.

I want to be so wrong, but I don’t see enough evidence that this team is anything other than a bottom tier team.
I can’t stomach the goaltending as it looks to be a repeat of last season.
The D is okay, but not dynamic without a healthy Oliver in the lineup.
I am not seeing the dangerous forward or power play lines jumping over the boards to put sustained offensive pressure on the top teams in the league.
I don’t see evidence of a system that this team is employing let alone anything for them to “buy into”.
Not enough change this offseason…
Again, I hope I’m wrong, but goaltending will be paramount for any success.
