This is a top 5 team if Gabby Boudreau is the head coach. Gully had no idea how to manage a game. His system sucks. When a team forechecks the hell outta you sometimes you just have to go glass and out.

The point is that people here are starting to give Smith the mandate to call out the team after he did it last game, and I believe it would be much better for him to to worry about himself especially after letting five goals in. Of course you can't hang all five on him, perhaps not a single one of them depending on how you look at it, and neither could you hang all of Lacks goals against on him even of they got him to the AHL. With that said, five against will never be good enough. This game was bad defensively, but it sure was no goaltending clinic either.

If the coaches and leadership can't get the same guys to get their heads out if their arses, then I'm just fine with the teams MVP night in and night out giving it a go.

I respectfully disagree. I think what happened in Detroit the other night clearly shows we have character. What I would like to see is our coach get angry for a change. He should be the backbone of the teams character, he should stand up his guys, yell at the ref etc., rather than quietly protest.

And what is it with Dougie consistently waiting for pucks to come to him while he just stands there? I've noticed this repeatedly the last 4-5 games. Happened again tonight on the last Flames PP.. the puck was ringed around the boards and instead of taking a stride forward to pick it up, he stood there watched the puck and the Stars player both close in on him. Puck cleared of the zone.

It's just one stride.

Dumb and lazy.

The biggest numbskull was Gulutzan, it's not even close. The guy has zero feel for a game it's really bizarre actually.
