I think the organization waits a while yet to make any coaching changes.
Starting from that game getting shutout 2-0 by the Jets, we are an abysmal 2-7-0 now. An extended losing streak is allowable by the Flames' past standards... what was it that year we made the playoffs? A 9 game losing streak in Dec? But if it continues on this way for another 2, 2.5 weeks then I think Gulutzan gets canned before the Flames hit their BYE week (Feb 8-12). Possibly sooner if Julien is let go.

Have to agree with the previous poster: I hate Gulutzan's sarcastic comment about the 4th line. It's one thing to point out a mistake, but that comment makes it unnecessarily personal.
Considering I think it was aimed pretty much at one player, Ferland, I'm not so sure.
Ferland sometimes floats around the ice or tries to make plays as if he's a 60 point player. Ferland had the lowest icetime of the game and 0 time on the powerplay.
Looks like he got some extra time in the 3rd when the game was out of hand and Gulutzan was probably looking to send messages to other players, but Ferland only played ~4 minutes through the first two periods.
I wonder if the Flames look at making a couple of roster changes prior to the all star break.

Good post.
Perspective is important. They are playing absolutely brutal but we know they can be better.
They wont go 6-26 the rest of the way.
Would be nice if Gulutzan would show a tiny bit of emotion behind the bench, what effing good does it do to go on a rant on talk radio? And him calling out the 4th line is pure garbage my opinion of this guy was never that great but it took a major hit tonight.
If I were Gulutzan I would bench a couple of the lazy bums and call up guys from the farm to replace them. At least this way he might be able to regain the team, some enthusiasm, effort and energy by playing guys who want to earn the opportunity. It should not be the core that runs the asylum it should be the coach and if he has to bench guys for extended periods of time he should do it.
Why waste Backlund, Frolik and Matthews efforts every night with a bunch of guys who don't want to earn their fat paychecks. It's absolutely amazing how that one line has carried the team this far, maybe it's time to sit those who keep flexing their entitlement.

I would have preferred he actually broke his rule and went and chewed the team out in the locker room after the game, but it's something at least. Rhett has apparently said that talking to the boys right after the game is actually not a common thing among NHL coaches.
Glen has been publicly labelled as a player's coach, but more than that - I don't think he's actually ever lost his composure on a player yet. He probably believes that it's not the right way to reach a player, but hey - no two players are the same.
Seems to be the norm as a coach to be ripping a player on the bench, but will defend him to the media and say nicer things about it. I suppose if he's not gonna go talk to his players after the game, this is the closest equivalent we're all gonna get to Glen rage-throwing a piece of equipment across the room.

The second goal tonight (Plekanec) and the second last night (Kadri) were absolute back breakers. Those two ugly one's were so reminiscent of the deflating softies that Ramo/Hiller always seemed to give up last year. Those types of goals totally and completely crush fragile teams like the Flames are right now. Right at this moment 2-0 feels like 10-0 for our group.

Like I said earlier, GG may take the fall, but the players have let him down.
Gaudreau has absolutely and utterly stunk the place out.
Didn't suck when he had 3 different coaches over the last few years. Gulutzan is ruining him.

Wow, what leadership .
Hey dillhole here's a couple of easy ####ing suggestions:
Get Brodie to the right side. You know, the side where he looks like a Norris candidate. Your stupid little experiment obviously sucks.
Get Chaisson out of the top 6. Maybe it's time to break up the MMM line and spread the wealth a little.
Show some goddamn emotion on the bench. You're supposed to be their leader and you look utterly disinterested for 60 minutes. How are the players supposed to play with passion when you look like you have narcolepsy.
