Definitely true but it's important to note that's the same core that had clearly quit on Hartley last season.
He's worn out his welcome with the team, but my point was that he was able to at least galvanize the team's competitive spirit. They may have quit somewhat on Hartley, but did they quit on each other as teammates? I never got the latter impression, at least to the same extent that I'm feeling now.
It's real frustrating that so far, all of Hartley's good coaching traits are missing in Glen, and all of Glen's good coaching traits are missing in Hartley.

Oh yeah it was nasty. There was definitely some mean. Not sure if that's a bad thing or not when the team is playing this badly, though. Gulutzan has gone out of his way to be a players coach by all accounts. Clearly that's not working... Or the players will resent him for it. Who knows. It's all rotten so there's probably not much good to go around.
Did he blame "his" 4th line or the 4th liner he keeps playing on his top line?
It's possible to split up the Tkachuk/Backlund/Frolik line and not do worse.
The Flames cant even win a trade with this coach. But visually they look better?

Definitely agree with everything you said. It's like polar opposites.
There have been guys mailing it in since the beginning of the season, sooner or later that has to affect the rest of the team. That's simply unacceptable considering some of these young guys are lucky to be playing in the NHL. I just hope Matthew Tkachuk is level headed enough not to group in with some of these free loafers.

The coaching staff needs to hold the players accountable. All of them.
Upper management needs to hold the coaching staff accountable.
Players not giving a complete effort should eat popcorn next game.
GG should perhaps have a week off.
While I don't agree with all of Gulutzan's comments, at least the guy finally showed some emotion for a change. Would be nice if we saw a bit of that from the players on the ice as well.
Have to agree with the previous poster: I hate Gulutzan's sarcastic comment about the 4th line. It's one thing to point out a mistake, but that comment makes it unnecessarily personal.
It's never as good as we think it is nor is it ever as bad. The problems are pretty basic stuff right?
When your best players aren't your best players you're gonna have a bad time.
When your goalies can't make a save you're gonna have a bad time.
This same team played worse under Hartley last year but fans were more forgiving because it was more fun to watch. It does feel like if our GM is "old school" we're coming up on a firing or a shake up trade but that never really happens anymore right?

Would be nice if Gulutzan would show a tiny bit of emotion behind the bench, what effing good does it do to go on a rant on talk radio? And him calling out the 4th line is pure garbage my opinion of this guy was never that great but it took a major hit tonight.
