Being blocked means very little aside from him being able to respond at this point. When you're blocked from a page, you can still see and read everything. You just can't comment, like comments/posts/content, or share content aside from taking a screenshot and sharing it that way.
Now, any time I read/hear "blocked" this comes to my head;
Spoiler!
Thanks Brooker.

Yes we hired contractors who did shoddy work but we stand behind the warranty that expired a year earlier than we led you to believe and now that you're left SOL we just want to remind you how much we stand behind our quality products that fail and ruin your home.
I dunno, I am tempted to side with Truman homes because whomever is controlling their Facebook Page is very friendly in their responses. They use smiley faces and say 'thanks' alot. Good manners
Wow, that was about as underhanded as it gets. So they responded by passive aggressively suggesting they can't just be there for you forever, then they used your own words against you to show that you understand that, despite not admitting this was a huge defect that caused major damage.
All of it is pretty bad but the fact that they did all of this under the knowledge that you could no longer respond to clarify or defend yourself is ridiculous. If you can get the media to do something on this I'd absolutely add this BS tactic to the story.
Their response was 100% dismissive of you as a customer and was 100% designed to make you look like an unreasonable idiot, this should not be ignored, imo.
- Yeah the FB drama has been funny. Now I will say I don't know if I was actually blocked, I couldn't find their page when I searched for it earlier so that is what I assumed as my friends who shared the story and also commented on the page had the same issue. So a little earlier today they contacted me and essentially said that I should talk to Alberta New Home Warranty and, albeit I'm paraphrasing here, that I shouldn't worry about it as insurance will cover it. I responded about how ANHWP rejected my claim and also that me having to pay out a deductible and having an open claim on my title due to something that was no fault of my own was not an acceptable solution. I posted the same thing to their reply on my review. They also accused me of lying about them having to return multiple times which I know they did as I had to get someone to be at my unit as I couldn't take time off work so they can corroborate my story. They continue to beat the "1 year" drum so I told them that I will continue to beat my "I don't care, this is outrageous" drum (All of which was said in a much more professional manner mind you).
Now the funniest thing on the FB side of this is that I'm pretty sure they have removed the entire review section from their page. Can someone check?
- Lastly, looks like I'll be okay on insurance unless the deductible for the building is higher than $65K. The managers are finally getting their crap together and sending a crew to look at the place tomorrow and sending over the appropriate documents. That said I'm not standing down.

I checked for Shiggles and can't see it.

Good luck Polak. It sucks when homebuilders shirk their basic responsibilities. As a homebuyer, we just want competent workmanship. Is that too much to ask?
This thread has potential to approach the levels of the Beyond.ca claw guy manhunt!
Best of luck with CTV. I've had my share of hassles with condo defects that arise after the 1 year period. I think it's a pretty ridiculous period and we need to have longer home warranties like we have on all other products.
At about the 13 and 14th month mark of my condo, right after the home warranty expired:
All closet coat hanger bars and shelving failed. The contractor chose to use plastic struts for the closet shelves which were connected to the bars. These struts snapped in half after a year with average load. Everything collapsed. I hear it happened to every unit.
Fancy dishwasher failed. Expensive fix outside of 1 year warranty. Decided not to bother and have used it as a fancy drying rack and storage since.
Radiator control valve failed. The electronic unit that the thermostat control activates to open and close the valves that let hot/cold water into the radiator system stopped moving. It had to be replaced and all the radiators opened.
A month after the radiator problem, the whole HVAC system failed. The PLC controller in the closet that controls the thermostat units and fans for the air vents failed. Replacing the fuse does nothing, it won't power on. I haven't had heat for 5 months. It's now winter so I guess I better get this fixed.
All of these are expensive fixes.
