My insurance has been pleasant to deal with just not giving me straight answers since the Condo insurance is being terrible. They still haven't told me what they're going to do about it and I've talked to them 3 or 4 times already.

1. The shoddy workmanship and then the manager saying how can he know you didn't just stand in the sink. What an asshat.
2. If they do decide to cave to the public pressure, they should be shamed again for doing so. They should have done the right thing in the first place. It shouldn't have to be plastered all over the media or negative reviews that make them cave in. While I sincerely hope that they handle the situation to your liking, it has always GMG that it takes the media or a plethora of negative reviews to get the ball rolling in situations like this.

For similar cases of water damage in my condo building, I've seen the work crew tear up the flooring out of the entire unit because it's all toothed in together so to get out some bad spots, you need to replace the whole thing.

in some cases you have to take it all up as well to see the full extent of the damage.

Yeah, we went through the home buying process a little while ago and our realtor was really good at pointing which types of flooring were like that since it could be a pain for some people.

I am not so sure that this is part of your plumbing warranty.
Without knowing about your specific case, it is normal for the Plumbing Subtrade to supply the undermount sink to the subtrade that makes the counter top.
If this is going back to a subtrade's warranty, I don't think it should be the Plumbing Company, it should be whoever installed the sink. Usually the Granite/countertop people.

You may be right but it is the builders reponsiblilty to make sure the subs are doing their job correctly. It is the builder that is ultimately responsible since they contract these guys.

Truman Hi Patrick,
We are sorry to hear about this. We have sent you an email to provide you with three suggestions on how you may seek resolution.
Please kindly note that we take great pride in the quality of our product and our service to our clients. We make every effort to ensure that any issues relating to the construction of our homes are addressed and we stand behind the warranty provided. However, we cannot provide ongoing service and maintenance indefinitely. As you mentioned, the issue you are facing arose after the warranty provided through the Alberta New Home Warranty Program had expired.
Again, we are sincerely sorry to hear about this incident, and hope that our three suggestions will be of some help.
Thanks,
The Truman Team.

It's not ongoing service and maintenance, it's a defect. Ask them to provide the ongoing "service and maintenance" schedules that should be done to ensure a non-collapsing sink, and why they weren't included when you purchased the property so you would know they needed to be done. See what they can provide. It's not like getting your oil changed.
So I called ANHWP to confirm exactly what they told me yesterday and yeah, I heard right the first time. This is what I got from them (####ING HORSE ####):
Because the building permit was pulled before Feb 1st 2014, it is exempt from the extended 2 year coverage for plumbing, heating and electrical systems.
How ####ing awesome is that? Ugh I shouldn't have called them again, just makes my blood boil hearing that again.
Don't expect any real honest help from the Warranty program. We had some big issues (ie major water leaks) with our new house, and it took almost a year for them to get started fixing things (to the point that damage was much worse due to rotting), and then it's been almost a year now and it's still not completely resolved.
At every step they or their contractors try to delay and weasel out of responsibility. They are there to protect their builder members, not you.

Being blocked means very little aside from him being able to respond at this point. When you're blocked from a page, you can still see and read everything. You just can't comment, like comments/posts/content, or share content aside from taking a screenshot and sharing it that way.

Wow, blocking someone and then replying in such a way that you can't respond is about the scummiest tactic imaginable.
