Yeah, you have to give some credit to Landeskog/O'reilly. They did a brilliant job shutting down our top line. Landeskog figured out early what the refs were and weren't going to call and toed that line the entire game. Even doing things like running our tender after a goal, and the shot after the buzzer. He's developing into a first rate #### disturber.
I think the main reason the top line looked so good in that last minute is the Avs were no longer willing to risk taking a penalty to shut them down. If you look at other games where they've been ineffective it's typically games where there are a lot of stick infractions that go uncalled (LA/Anaheim/Detroit)

Brodie has been playing with Engelland since Gio went down. Brodie's struggles tonight probably had more to do with the fact that nobody is capable of playing 100% every night.

Honestly we got a broadcast from these two not that long ago and it was nearly as bad. Is sucks that I'd almost rather watch the game on mute than listen to the HNIC broadcast. They are horrible.

I watched the third period on the punjabi station. It actually wasn't too bad (I don't speak punjabi).

Flames played like crap and never got it together until the last couple minutes. Two minutes of good hockey normally doesn't win you any games.

Thought the Flames played a very strong 1st period, outshooting the Avs 12-6 in the process. They were on their heels only after that phantom too many men call and weren't able to recover until midway through the third.
I think that game would have been a lot different if that penalty weren't called.

According to another site, flames "out corsi'd" the avs. 64-54. Could that mean the stas don't paint the full picture?

Most likely was still better than what the rest of us had to listen to.

I agree; had some friends over and we muted the game and pumped some tunes.

Also, 'cue the comeback' does not have a Punjabi translation either.

Randip did get everyone's names right, though I thought I kept hearing Victor Rask...

Sub-standard goal tending and poor officiating... If we get goal tending like that going forward we are screwed... That's all I got to say

One of three goals were bad, the other two were brain dead plays by the players in front of him. Don't know how you can blame Ramo for that one.

Didn't want to start a new thread or where to post this...... Does anybody know when Paul Byron is expected back? I know some on CP could do without him, but I like that little spark plug .

Didn't get to watch the game, so this isn't a comment on any particular goal, but I always differentiate between bad goals, where any NHL goalie should make the stop, and ones where, while you can see how it would go in (so not "blaming" the goalie per se), a goalie playing really well can make the stop.
With Ramo my question would be - how was his overall positioning, rebound control and did he overplay a lot? Those are the warning signs for me that his game is slipping. Hiller's are different.

Ramo was the 2nd best goalie on the ice, and I think that is as far as I'd argue that point. So whether or not we can blame Ramo for one thing or the other doesn't matter much.
Varlamov was the better goalie, and that factored into the end result.
