No hyperbole. You convinced me.

was it Paul Romanuk that called David Jones's injury a dive and said he should be penalized for diving?
Listening to the interviews you can just hear it from Hartley... it was a game of momentum. He was pissed.

No, Mike Johnson.

The NHL really needs to do something about the quality of officiating. As a fan tonights game made me want to watch hockey less. It's hard to cheer during a game when the referees are overtly altering the game.
The referees ran into our players, missed blatant calls (Johnny's stick was 15 feet in the air ffs), called bad offsides and made bad icing calls. All in all a pretty discouraging night, excuses or not I'm rather disappointed in the NHL. Games like this have to hurt their bottom dollar, hyperbole maybe but it was not an enjoyable experience watching tonight. I'm not saying it was rigged even, those referees weren't smart enough to pull that off. Just flat out incompetency and we've seen it multiple times this year.

I usually don't complain about commentary either, but Johnson was unbearable tonight. Some of the things he said during this game was really getting on my nerves. Annoying as ####.

Those refs must have worked another game last night in another country. The ice too.

Okay, refffing did turn out to be pretty bad. However it was pretty brutal on both sides, not just against us. Brodie had an off game too, still though, forget about it and on with the next game.

Also saw nothing bad about the ice? Not sure why those comments are popping up.

The puck was bouncing all over the place. Not sure why you couldn't see it. Maybe there's a reason.

Yes very noticeable.
Really don't understand why Ferland wasn't playing. The avs have always been chippy under Roy. Plus he had a thing going with Landeskog the last time they played ad it would have been nice to have had Ferland deal with him.
These games are getting chippy and more of the playoff style. Ferland should be dressed every game and really Wolf should up instead of Poirier giving Hartley the option to dress 2 of Ferland, Wolf, or Bollig.
You can't look at how dominant The top line was against the Leafs and think that's how it's going to be the rest of the way. What we saw against Colorado is going to be the norm.

I'm wondering how much of Brodie's struggles tonight came from playing with Engelland. Could either Schlemko or Diaz move up to play with Brodie instead?

No, Douglas Murray: our secret weapon.

I don't think it was Engllands fault today, Brodie is usually pretty good, but I remember a game this year where when he was bad, he was brutal.

I didn't notice Engelland doing anything egregious - he seemed fine out there. I wonder if there might be a better pairing for Brodie though. Or it is distinctly possible that TJ just had a less than stellar evening and everything will be copacetic next game.

Brodie was downright terrible tonight. The entire team played tired.

This is a bit of an over-reaction. We've seen them be dominant against teams like Anaheim and LA.
Last night was the 2nd night of back to back games in different countries/time zones with an altitude change.
Yes, the games will be tight from here on in, but they've played very well in tight games lately as well.

They had one good game against the ducks at a time when the ducks had no desperation or need to win. They have not dominated either of those teams, they have had some success. The last game they played against the kings was the playoff kings, and the flames had no answer.

So what? I agree that the top line has not played great as a whole against LA and Anaheim outside of a couple of games, but they have been playing great against lots of other teams over the course of the past few weeks.
Why would we expect them now to struggle against everyone else the rest of the way? Especially with a fairly manageable schedule over the course of their last 15 games?

It's amazing to see how everything starts off Johnny's stick in the oppositions zone.He is literally the QB on most plays. Pretty impressive for a 21yr. old.
