I notice them because they make the whole broadcast choppy and degrade the overall product massively. Their AI is still sub par and almost totally ruins the experience for me.

I liked how on the Ritchie goal Kadri was a millisecond from getting on the bench then sees it and immediately b lines right over to give props to Ritchie rather than join the bench

small small things but speaks volumes about the guy . you can tell he is invested in winning

Not only was it a big win but Markstrom got dialed in finally. That is huge going forward.

I think he is our number one centre. I like Lindholm, he finished so many Gaudreau set ups last year. But when I watch the two play I see Kadri as our true number one centre and a centre that would both elevate the first lines possession time and entries, AND have the vision and tenacity to be open and finish Huberdeaus elite passes.

At this point I almost think it'll be inevitable that we see this at some point, and when it happens I think it will stick. And before any hyperbole, this is NOT a shot at Lindholm, in fact I think that second line with him could easily be one one of the better second lines in the NHL.

Sometimes it's just a matter of fit, not promotion/demotion. Kadri will be a perfect fit on the top line.

I would love to see Kadri and Lindholm swapped for a couple games to see the results.

I don't disagree with this, but having our 2 best forwards on separate lines also gives us continuing attack advantage. But hey, do a couple of games. We're currently the toast of the division so what harm?

We could also find chemistry where we don't expect on other lines.

Lindholm is having a slow start but he does have 2 new linemates. One from a completely different system.

I'm actually less surprised about Lindholm having a slow start than I am that Backlund is starting on time this year. He is playing good under Sutter right out of the gate instead of waiting 35-50 games like usual.

Yup Kadri has been our best player so far in my eyes.
I see a swap with him/lindy or a swap of Toffoli/Mangiapane happening at some point, Huberdeau and Lindholm both need someone to carry the puck.

Kadri and Huberdeau have showed some chemistry on the PP.

Yep, that's where I'm at. I'm not worried about the team overall, we're a contender. But eventually a contender needs to have an elite top line.

That may come with time between Huberdeau/Lindholm/Toffoli or it might not. To me I see signs that the players fundamentally aren't the greatest fit at 5 on 5. But they could also work hard on it and practice and become an elite first line. That's my hope, as that allows to have a deadly second line with Kadri.

My point is just that aesthetically I see a natural fit between Kadri and Huberdeaus skill sets that may be required to form that needed elite first line.

But we got time and a good team, so no rush or panic needed.

The way things are going, Kadri-Mangiapane-Dube might just turn out to be that line. In which case, Lindholm-Huberdeau-Toffoli would be a damn good #2.

Huberdeau did get his 115 points while playing on the second line in Florida last year.

I am looking at the game summary on nhl.com and Ritchie's goal is listed as unassisted. What gives? Both Kadri and Dube made plays on the puck to get it to him in the corner.

If they became elite enough to be our number one line on a Cup contender that'd be amazing. And a true testament to the player that Kadri is. I've been even more impressed than I was even anticipating.

Yeah, wasn't that basically a pass from Kadri to Ritchie in the corner?

Not quite. Kadri chipped it in. Dube grabbed it and passed it directly to Ritchie.
