Sorry don't know how to link things properly
Talks about how the trade to Pitt went down, his summer back here after the flood helping out and not know where he was going, how he approached Boston. Pokes fun at Rhett a couple times
Lots of what we read in the Calgary Herald artical. It was nice to just hear him laugh
|
Oh, so Iginla was in Calgary helping out with the flood? Remember all those braindead posters making comments asking where Iginla was and why he wasn't making public statements about the flood because he didn't care about Calgary anymore?
Well, I guess those dumbasses can eat some crow now.

It would be sacrilege to see anyone else wearing #12. if they don't officially retire it, i hope they make it unavailable to wear.

Even though I don't have a lot of respect for Feaster or his abilities, you have to be dumber than a sack of potatoes to tell another GM the deal is done and have him make moves that affect his franchise (scratching Koko from the lineup that night, signing Bartkowski) without something to back that up.
I find it difficult to believe even someone like Feaster could put himself in that position.

Except in your scenario there is no way on earth you can blame anyone but Feaster. So while I get that you want to hate Iginla, any mistaken impression Chiarelli was left with was due to his own assumptions, of Feaster's doing, or a combination of both. So yes, it is easy to believe that Feaster could place himself in that position.

Well, yes, there is.
The missing piece of evidence would be: Iginla would have to have told Feaster he was willing to go to Boston, then changed his mind.
Not saying this is the case, but it certainly isn't the impossible scenario which you are implying.
Also there isn't really a need to tack on the "Iginla Hate" comment, it makes you seem rather uncouth.

Does anybody have the context of the comments from Burke and Gretzky about Iginla?
All I remember was what Crawford said as well I think Sutter said that it was one of the best performances he has ever seen from a young captain.

I don't even remember hearing Gretzky or Burke say anything like that.

Whatever it was, Charelli got the wrong idea, and Feaster botched that communication up big time and lead another GM (with all the other GM's/agents watching with a major trade) down the wrong path...further diminishing Feaster's credibility and thus the Flames credibility.

In the radio interview he mentions that Feaster told him they preferred the Boston deal.

It was hard to see Iggy go, but the push was on for a rebuild at the end of last season. I thought he chose the right team with the Pens. But in the end, it was pretty fore-telling how the ending came to be as the Pens were such a pushover team for two years in a row and their coach is such a dweeb. Anyway, I do hope he will come back and retire as a Flames after he has won his Stanley Cup. Hope he wins it with the Bruins this season. Can't wait for that game coming up.
