A milkshake is a great thing to have when you’re having a heat attack.

But a non-heat attack? What is that even? Is it a lack of heat? Does that mean cold or just room temperature? Ambient?

Looking around the web, it sounds as if QR77 may be moving to 107.3 or being simulcast...something around those lines in some regard, because spoken word FM stations require a different license with the CRTC.

Have seen billboards around town recently advertising QR Talk FM or something along those lines.

Lol, if you take a listen to 107.3 (CFGQ), they have indeed become simply a simulcast of CHQR (770). The stations' on-air bumpers are now co-branded, mentioning both call signs and both frequencies.
I would be surprised if by next year they haven't changed the callsign of 107.3 to "CHQR-FM".

Council to hear from public on new plan for redeveloping Westbrook communities
Main points in the plan include increased redevelopment of Westbrook Mall and increased development around the Westbrook LRT station
https://calgaryherald.com/news/local...t-plan-council
This should be interesting. As someone who was part of the LAP Committee for the past 3+ years building this plan, I'm looking forward to seeing the comments and opinions in response. Being part of this committee was super fun and rewarding and I would recommend others to join theirs in their area one day (where possible).

So it's a sub-brand of The Bay? I don't really get why they'd bother, unless they're desperate to get the attention of someone like me who grew up going to Zellers regularly.

But if you're like me, those aren't good, nostalgic memories.

I can see why they're doing it - the department store format is tired, and they've got a tonne of square footage. There is a certain amount of nostalgia with the Zellers brand that will generate some buzz.
Ultimately, however, no amount of Zellers nostalgia is going to make me drive to Sunridge to experience it. That ship has sailed, and unless they can compete on price with Wal-Mart, Amazon, etc., I can't see this changing much for HBC or consumers in general.

Damn, I hope they just leave it well enough alone to do their own thing.

WP seems to have enough brand equity that Co-op will (or should!) be keeping it as a standalone thing... I could even see them rebranding certain locations from CoOp to WP.
WP's biggest strength is their selection and events, and there's no way they'll be messing with that. More often than not, in my experience, CoOp has them beat on regular and sales pricing, so I don't see how CoOp's acquisition is a bad thing in any way?

The article on Livewire Calgary says WP will be kept as a wholly-owned subsidiary operated as a separate entity.
