Yeah just because it may be hard to enforce a cellphone ban is no reason not to implement it. Seatbelt laws may be hard to enforce but I got one on deerfoot one day way back, actually I had 2 seatbelt tickets before I started to just wear it.

One person one ticket at a time we can stop peopl from talking/texting while driving.

It reminds of the story a few months back of a guy who got a cellphone ticket and he said he was just warming up his ear. He fought the ticket and won after his phone records didn't show any calls at that time.

If a cop is driving along and he sees some shiddiot swaying back and forth in the lane and constantly tapping his brakes and then looks a little closer and sees the hand up to the ear... Pull him over and give him a ticket for undue care and attention.
I could get behind this. They could even set up in the same way for photo radar and just start taking photos of drivers coming at them for proof when they pull somebody over.

When I was living in Toronto during the lockout year, I was crossing the street at Younge and Bloor and some soccer-mom on her phone took a corner against the pedestrian light and nearly killed me.

So I jumped on the hood of her car, smashed it in thoroughly while screaming at her to get off her effing phone.

Then I ran like hell.

Default 4X4's dream girl!

Seriously if this Herald opinion article's author is single, 4X4 should try for a date!

Amen to that. The concept, although simple, is still foreign to these parts of the world.

As professional drivers know, driving in the wrong lane poses a far more significant threat.

The Traffic Safety Act requires all drivers "to use the right lane unless they intend to pass. The inside or centre lane is reserved for overtaking and passing manoeuvres."

I look at people who dont understand such a simple concept like they're martians. I have a buddy who drives in the left lane on the transcanada even though he's constantly passed on the right. I hate riding with him because I feel like a moron just being there.

Oh man, been there done that, it's worse when you're the passenger and they're passing on the right because you're the first one they see when they look over to give you guys the stink eye. You can't look back over because of the shame you feel.

Ha ha, that is so true. You just kind of look forward or downwards to hide the shame. I hate it when I ride in cars that do this.
