I want to see Kylington badly but I'm not sure Stone or Hamonic can carry Kylington until he gets his footing in the NHL. Because that's who's next in line from the farm for LHD.
Wotherspoon has earned a call-up too. Very solid two years running. If not here, he'll be getting a shot somewhere.
It's only 5 teams, really - Edmobton, Vancouver, Montreal, Boston and Detroit, that attract a lot of fans to Calgary games. The first two are due to the geography. The latter three are ... whatever. Boston fans are probably the most obnoxious of the group though.
Also Winnipeg, and to a lesser extent Chicago. The Rangers are about the only original 6 team that doesn't seem to have much of a following here.
That's not how save % works. In this scenario, a goaltender would have either a really great or really bad save %. There's no in between.
Seriously?

Weird, I thought I watched a hard battled game that came down to one play in 3v3. Instead it looks like we are a mediocre bunch of suckiest sucks that ever did suck.
The Flames did not look great in the first, but Otherwise thought it was a good game. Yes, it would be perfect to win all 82 games with near flawless execution, but suppose I’ll settle for being 3rd in Pacific (for now)

Lot of sarcasm going on here. But inserting Kylington or Rasmus Andersson who have 3 combined NHL games into the line up in probably the most important stretch of the season could be disastrous. People want to trade Brodie because of the mistakes he’s made this season, do people just expect rookie defensemen to jump into the NHL and play mistake free hockey or something? This isn’t NHL 18 or some kind of video game. The amount of mistakes that Kulak, Andersson or Kylington will likely make being played so far up into the line up will probably make people’s head spin.
Flames have decided to not give Andersson any opportunities to show what he can do, even when he was up for multiple games. They went with Bart instead last season when they could’ve been gauging how good Andersson is.
Thread after thread, people say that Brodie is untouchable because Kulak would become out #4. There are many teams out there with a #4 who could be packaged in a potential Brodie trade. Oduya in Ottawa is playing first pairing minutes and is a UFA.
I like Brodie, and I think he will be a top 3 defenseman on any team willing to play him on the right side.
Oduya is a tire fire this year. I'd turn in my Flames fan card if they moved Brodie for Johnny freakin' Oduya.
I understand the frustration but come on guys, this Brodie witch hunt is ridiculous. Remember Dennis Wideman? It could be A LOT worse.

This game in isolation wasn’t bad. Terrible first, then got better the rest of the game and easily could’ve gotten 2 points out of this.
It was like a bakery in the Dome though, turnovers everywhere. The game could’ve gone either way, but at least they got the point.
The problem is that when you’ve built up your terrible home record to this point already, you just need wins. You can claim moral victories, but after 3/4’s of the season they just become excuses.
Having said that, I could see this team missing the playoffs, but I could also see them getting it together and going on a deep run. I have no confidence in this coaching staff, but until they’re fired I’ll keep hoping they prove me wrong.

Defense is one of those positions that you don’t just throw a young guy into the wolves. This team is also deeper on right shooting defensemen which is likely why Rasmus doesn’t get in. An injury to the a RHD is likely the only way he gets in.
I’m just saying, people flip out over Brodie’s mistakes, but don’t be surprised if one of these younger guys enter the line up and make a boat load themselves. Kulak was scratched recently as the team’s 6th defenseman, imagine what would happen if you doubled his minutes and against even tougher competition. It’d be a blood bath.

If Oduya is a so called tire fire in Ottawa playing valuable minutes on one of the worst teams in the NHL and is a +3 what does that make TJ Brodie playing on what should be a contender paired with a solid defensive player at -10?

The Sens are very no good but Oduya is also really no good anymore at all. The +3 is not a good indication of his play this year.

If it wasnt for s vezina level performance from Rittich, score easily should have been 5-7 to 1

I'd argue the reason Ottawa is a tire fire this year is because they have Oduya on their top pairing.

It's easy enough to put the goat horns on Brodie as is habit so far this season but with the kinds of chances the Flames had in the 3rd and OT, we really should have put it away before that point.
I thought the Tkachuk takeaway on Bergeron behind the net should have sealed it but Bennett unfortunately hesitated instead of jamming the puck into the net while Rask was out of position. That's one of the more egregious opportunities that were wasted.
