Back in the late 90s, early 2000s, A&W was in their prime for taste, IMO. The burgers were seasoned perfectly, and so incredibly juicy. They're still good now, but not all that juicy, and the burger toppings have to make up for the lack of flavor (which, to their credit, A&W uses toppings that I would say are far better than what you'd find at your usual fast food place).
And every time I see one of their stupid commercials prattling on about "organic" this, or "no hormones or steroids" that, I just want them to shut up about it and go back to doing whatever they were doing back in their prime.

I, too, believe everything I see on television / the internet.

Maybe Edmonton is their test market for western Canada as I know they have a few locations in Ontario as well. They really need to come to Calgary

I like A&W too. I don't know why, but the people that work there always seem nice. The orange and brown décor are nice and relaxing. Plus you can get friggin' hot dogs. I don't care what is in them, I like hot dogs.

Teen Burgers seem to always make me sick where as most other bottom rung fast food is usually fine. I do love their sunny side up breakfast but it can't compare to a McDonalds coffee.
I'll say it again, McDonalds coffee is amazing.

Yeah they really hit it out of the park when they revamped their coffee a few years ago.
Although they put splenda in mine today and it sucked balls.

Their coffee is Mother Parkers, who supplies a large number of restaurants and private label brands.
And you are correct - the McDonalds coffee is very good.

So, rather than me googling this, can you buy it somewhere?

They have been selling their McCafe in stores for a while now, and they sell it in K-cups too, if that is your thing.
They do have some of their own retail brands: http://www.mother-parkers.com/retail...s/default.aspx
As far as the private label brands they do, there are a myriad of different options so only they will know which brands are using which beans and which roasts. They are a pretty large operation.
I only know this because I read an article when McDonalds changed their coffee to what they have now, and it discussed who was their roaster. A little googling showed the rest.

I had a Hot and Spicy McChicken in Vegas last weekend. It costed me a dollar. One dollar. And quite a bit bigger than the Jr. McChicken with the nugget-sized chicken they have here. Even with the exchange rate, that's amazing. Why can't we have that here??

Went to Vegas for EDC in 2013.
Literally 90% of my diet was alcohol and Hot N Spicy McChickens.
Every time someone went downstairs we sent them to get some spicy McChickens.

Stating that indicates you don't understand digestion or metabolism.
If you want to make sure your body metabolizes sugar before fats and drop your Basal Metabolic Rate through the floor, live off twinkies and multi-vitamins and struggle through the rest of your life fighting off food cravings and putting a ton of effort into not becoming obese.
Oh, and enjoy your much higher likelihood of digestive system cancers and diseases.

The problem with McDonalds?
I don't know why it bugs me, because I will be old one day too, but every McDonalds in the city has turned into a hospice ward between 7-10 am. I get they like their $1 seniors coffee and muffin, but they take up every seat in the place for hours, hog all the newspapers, and you cannot help but over hear the insane 'Sun comments section' style ramblings.
The last time I was in there, I had to listen to this obese old man complaining about his neighbours kid with this giant booming voice. "HE MASTURBATES ALL THE TIME, THAT'S THE PROBLEM, ALL THE MASTURBATION! GET THAT KID BAPTIZED IT ISN'T PURE!!!"
I really wanted to go stand on his oxygen hose for a minute or two.

20 McNuggets were $5 in Hawaii. Canadian food prices are ridiculous.

I'd be more concerned with how he knows about what his neighbors do in private.

I'll admit, I still like McDonald's - I still think the fries can't be beat and I'm a fan of the McNuggets. That said, I still can't believe that McD's HQ has kept the two downtown locations open - the majority clientele in those places in the morning is downright scary. Last time I was in the 8th St location, the police were leading someone out of the place because he PEED ON THE FLOOR in the middle of the seating area. Dear lord. And the 17 Ave/14St location isn't much better, I've discovered.
