I think it's clear that Flames management recognizes Bennett's tremendous willpower and are using it to mind-#### him into being the best he can be.

No it doesn't, not always anyway. The thing is, he wasn't sent down because management thinks he isn't good enough, he was likely sent down to ease him back into the game. No need to rush him back, stick to the original plan and things will be fine.

Sam's in the right place to develop into the potentially franchise-level player he could become. He may be 'sour' because he knows deep down he could compete on an NHL roster now. Thing is, in the future he could do so much more than just compete. Sam could dominate the NHL if his development is handled properly. Slow and steady seems to be the most effective, tried and true method.
If Sam averages 2.5 to 3.0 points per game in the OHL no one should be disappointed in management's decision.

Gee, do you think so?
If he gets above a 2.64 it means he's better than McDavid this year. And no one else is close to 2.5.
If he gets above 2.67 he's better than Gretzky's best OHL year (2nd highest all time for guys who played sufficient games).

On the other hand, there's quite a few guys well over 2 PPG in junior who didn't translate to scorers in the NHL.

I listened to that interview as well. There was zero indication that he may be bitter at the organization. In fact, you could kind of almost hear a chuckle from Treliving when he said that Sam was sour when he received the news.

Yup, but I give this thread about 2 more pages before someone on this board misinterprets the "sour" comment (because they don't bother listening to the interview) and proclaim Bennett to be an entitled 'headcase like Sven'.

Bennett with an assist on the Frontenacs 2nd goal in the 1st.
Came speeding down the side, tried a wraparound, rebound went out in front and was put in by Watson.

Don't know if anyones watching the Fronts game, but Bennett stirring it up at the end of the period. Shot at the buzzer and a guy goes after him. Refs split them up and Bennett goes back after him, leads to a mini scrum.
Can't wait to see him with the Flames.

Love Bennett. He would have none of that guy who took a run at him. Someone takes a run at him, he comes back harder, punches the guy right in the mouth.

He is filled with so much fire. I still think he is the best forward from last years draft. I watched Reinhart play junior last month and he just doesn't have the same energy and drive that Sam seems to have.
I hope Sam is the kind of guy that can score goals and punch guys in the face when it is necessary. It can really fire up a team. Hard hitting, fast skating, goal scoring centre and future leader of this team. I can't wait until he is a flame.

I think you are looking more at guys like Rob Schremp or Pavel Brendl.
