If anything, this Canucks group is 3-4 years away from where the Flames are when you look at Iginla's age vs the Sedins age, and regardless of the rest of the team that has always been one of the big differences between the two teams. The Flames never got anyone to play with their elite winger, the Canucks have always had an elite center to play with theirs.
who knows how the team will look in 3-4 years, no one knows. Edmonton thought they would be a playoff team by now, so did NYI/Florida etc... it's way too difficult to predict that far

Sure I can compare. Sedins, Luongo, Kesler, Burrows, Edler, Bieksa, etc have all seen their career seasons in the rear view mirror. They have collective talent but none of their core players are going to be any better than they are this season and most likely worse as the years go on. Throw in a lack of supporting cast and it's not unreasonable to expect that they may miss the playoffs in the next few seasons. In fact it's nowhere near a given this season as they are 8th place halfway through the season as is. Trust me it's coming and like in Calgary it will get ugly as like I said before this team is locked up as is for a long time.
