Does nobody in California broadcasting know what the NHL MVP award is called? This is the second time I have heard them call it the Cy Young (Ducks broadcast).

Possibly last place for Flames if Colorado hangs on against the Sharks....how things can change fast!

Haha, they are not confused. Cy Young is an unoffical award in NHL for highest goals to assist ratio (so jeff carter right now would be really high, 17 goals 2 assists. He was referencing Berglund who has like 13 goals and 3 assists)

Canucks fans should take a look at this board. Not this year or next year but it's coming. Aging stars locked up to big contracts and zero up and coming players in the system. Sounds eerily familiar.

As if it matters at this point. The Flames are their own worst OOT.

you can't compare the two teams future because the Canucks have a lot more talent within it than the Flames did

the Flames 'core' haven't won a playoff round in almost a decade

the Canucks have won back to back Presidents trophies

one team had a great playoff run and was for the most part a fringe playoff team the rest of the decade, the other is/was (debatable based on the last few weeks) a contender for the better part of the last 5 years

If anything, this Canucks group is 3-4 years away from where the Flames are when you look at Iginla's age vs the Sedins age, and regardless of the rest of the team that has always been one of the big differences between the two teams. The Flames never got anyone to play with their elite winger, the Canucks have always had an elite center to play with theirs.

who knows how the team will look in 3-4 years, no one knows. Edmonton thought they would be a playoff team by now, so did NYI/Florida etc... it's way too difficult to predict that far

Oot clicked on all cylinders tonite....

Last place in the conference. Hopefully the flames can stay near this spot in 2 to 3 weeks.

There is no way management can do nothing if that holds true, they can't be that ignorant.

Hasn't been a fun season that's for sure. We Canuck fans keep waiting for guys like Booth to start earning their contract and it just isn't happening. The core is getting older and it looks more and more like 2011 was this team's chance and they blew it.

The future looks ugly for this team. I think most of us are just hoping we can sneak into the playoffs with a healthy team and see if they can put it all together when it counts this one last time. The regular season means jack to this team after winning 2 President's Trophies and no Cups.

Also they have been pretty bad at home the last little while when it counts...for example Game 7 to Boston, and all 3 home games last year against LA in round 1. Home Ice just doesn't mean what it used to for them so just sneak in and see what happens....

Crosby now with 45 points. The Predators have scored 52 goals all season.
