This is getting ridiculous. I live on the 11th floor on 12th ave in the Beltline and every 15 minutes one of these d-bags comes tearing down 12th avenue like it's the Indy 500. People shouldn't have to pause a phone conversation or crank up the TV because of this garbage traffic noise.
Sorry, I should have used green text......I can appreciate the sound of a fine bike or high performance car, but when one of these beasts passes you and you can still hear them a couple of minutes later, or you see the motorcyclist wearing ear protection, then it is way too loud.

Jesus H.R. dinkballs, motorcycle down the block (like 5 houses down) finally came out today. My house literally shakes as it idles, I cannot even believe to imagine what its like living closer.
Any ideas on what to do? Obviously the 1 noise snare in the city isn't going to be helpful
Location: Close enough to make a beer run during a TV timeout
Exp:
- Print something with the bylaw and put it into his mailbox.
- Get a smartphone app that registers DB. If he keeps it up after you warned him call the police/ bylaw and file a complaint. Or better- go into an office.

If you don't have a dog, get one. Preferably a Saint Bernard or surprisingly, a Basset Hound. Every time you hear the noise from the bike, take your dog for a walk and linger around his grass until your dog quotes Big Joe Grizzly, "Hey, buddy, just to give you a heads up, I got a taco deluxe supreme talking back at me, so I'm going to be a while. So do you mind waiting somewhere else and let me pass this beast in peace?".
Two favorable outcomes are:
He gets upset, approaches you to discuss the matter, whereby you offer to be more careful with the dog if he stops running the bike; or
He either doesn't approach or you fail to come to an agreement if he does approach you, and you keep walking the dog over there; you still end up with some satisfaction.
Just my 2 cents that would ultimately be rounded down to zero now that the penny is gone leaving you with zero value from my 2 cents.

If it's not late at night there probably isn't much you can do. My understanding is that it has to be insanely loud to even warrant a ticket. I'm sure it's been discussed in this thread though.
There won't be much you can do. In all honesty if it's normal hours and he's not just sitting there revving it to make noise you should let it go.

I understand there usually isn't much that can be done, but I'm trying to explore avenues available. And its not just during normal hours, but also during the night.

Is it a joke of a device or was it not being used correctly? The creator of the noise snare says the city didn't specify distance in the bylaw. And he's the one who pulled his device, not the city. I hope we haven't seen the end of vehicle noise enforcement.
