By being classy and basically letting Iginla make his own deal, they literally let Iginla burn this franchise to the ground on the way out the door. We were hoping that we would get assets that could kick off a rebuild, instead it looks like we got the old hope and prayer. This franchise didn't add anything great or incoming to the prospect base unless that 30th pick yields gold.

I want to see Iginla to win a cup, I think he's a classy guy, but he didn't do any flavors for the Flames today in terms of even leaving us, the fans who have probably spent millions on his jerseys and cheered him every step of the way.

We the fans who lived through the young guns era thought that was bad . . . well children that's going to be a walk in the park compared to what we're going to go through.

I don't know if I have the heart or the patience to live through that level of ineptitude again.

So long Iggy good luck, don't look back.
When Boston traded Joe Thornton a lot of people thought it was a bad trade. Boston used those assets to acquire Andrew Ference. Andrew Ference is not worth Joe Thornton...but Andrew Ference also helped Boston win a cup.

You're right, it is most likely that what Calgary got back in this trade, none of these players will have a career like Iginla's. That doesn't mean they can't develop into solid NHLers and help the Flames win in the future.

Why is Feaster stockpiling with the Left wingers?
Cammy
Tangauy
Glencross
Bartschi
Horak
Hanowski
Gaudreau
Agostini

I thnk our only two RW prospects are Nemiz and Aliu.....
That being said and us getting two " minor" players back do you think Feaster could pull another trade for a RW prospect???

Did that Rudee get banned?

Hahahahaha.

That's too bad.

Of course, he wouldn't have shown up around here again anyways.

I really think the biggest thing missing from Iggy that past few years is that spark.

If he doesn't regain it in Pitt, he won't regain it anywhere.

Utterly disgusted with this trade. Its worse the Regehr trade. Glad I didn't listen to Feaster presser, don't want to hear the crap coming out of that morons mouth. I bet 29 GMs are probably chomping at the bits to see what else they can get out of him. This franchise is not going anywhere anytime soon, with current brass. Hopefully the owners put the crack pipe down and realize what the hell they doing and finally make some changes in management that are clearly needed. Any rebuild will not be a rebuild with these losers making the trades.

If you were to take a step back and look at it from a non-flames-fan perspective you could rationalize a reason for that fairly easily.
Dispute challenged.

Pittsburgh plays tomorrow at home vs. Jets. Could be Iggy's first game with them

I'd almost bet he'd be back regardless.

It's a long season playing for a new team at 36 when you'd have less of a chance at a cup than he does right now.

If Iginla wins a cup and resigns with the Flames, I'll like this trade a lot more.

Still pissed off Iginla was scratched in his last game. I don't know who made the decision to not play... Iginla himself or management, but either way I don't like it.

In his interview, Feaster said Hanowski is a C/RW. HockeyDB has him as RW.

Not a chance in hell. Pittsburgh might not sign him, but Iggy is going to enjoy the opportunity to play where he wants to play. He's also got to be tired of losing and he's not going to return to a franchise that's going to be losing a lot over the next half decade.

It will hurt less if all of you close the book on Iggy in the Red and Black.

It will hurt less if you all realize that it will be a long long time until we see an impact player in Red and Black of any type.

The heady days of having a team that boasted possibly two hall of famers and a lot of other talent are dead and buried.

Sorry folks, I'm just not feeling all that optimistic right now about this trade or the Flames

Trade 80% of them and get Neiderreiter.
