deja vu becauae I think I might said this just last week but

A top PP with those four is exactly the Lightning healthy PP

Eichel - Stamkos as your onetimer on the left circle
Tkachuk - Killorn as your deflection machine up front
Lindholm - Point as your bumper option
Gaudreau - Kucherov as your CPU on the right circle

It was pre-season.

Intertops. They are a huge pain to work with, but have better odds than some sites, usually by .5-1.5.

For me it doesn’t matter except what we give up.

If it’s a massive risk, couple of firsts and a cap dump with tons of salary retained.

If it’s medium risk, 3 or 4 pieces but the biggest piece is Mony and no Mangiapane, Hannifin, Chucky etc.. Mony and a couple picks/prospects only.

If there were no risk, I’d say go all in. And based on what we know I find it hard to believe anyone could call it a minor risk.

I don't know. A Battle of Alberta with Eichel vs McDavid 4-5+ times a year and potentially in the playoffs would be far more intriguing to me. Fans around the league would be tuning in. No homer.

A 12 to 1 pre season bet on the Seahawks, that's a good outcome. I hope you hedged it by the time they made it to the Super Bowl.

Theory:

Buffalo likes Vegas' offer more. The reason this trade is taking so long is because Vegas needs a third dance partner to relieve cap space: contacting 30 other teams for the best cap relief deal takes a long time. If Buffalo liked Calgary's deal more, it would be done already.

I thought this theory was basically confirmed as to why it didn't go down on Friday like most had expected. No team was willing to take on Eichel Salary for the next 5 years so Vegas couldn't make it work.

Jeff Marek show so nationally broadcast.

Calgary was mentioned as they have been in the past but it seems like a lot of the focus has been on Vegas and how close it came. It never seems like we hear any specifics about what the Flames are offering or what the Sabres want

Counter theory - this entire fiasco is emblematic of why Jack Eichel no longer wants to be associated with the Buffalo Sabres.

I'd say the risk is lower to moderate.

And knowing how meticulous Brad is about these things, he wouldn't be this far in on it if it was a "massive" risk.

If I recall people in the know said back in the summer that the outlook on this procedure was very good.

Its strange that people weren't pounding away at the apparent "enormity" of the risk until recent weeks. I think that's mainly people's fears pushing through.

Maybe Eichel will get tired of the drama and retire.

If this was just another flag pole and this gets dragged into December and I was Jack I'd consider it.

If we're totally honest, the most karmic outcome would be that the Sabres get nothing.

Just as valid a theory:

According to Kaplan no one has met Adams' ask, so the reason it is dragging out is he trying to get Vegas or the Flames to add more.

I’m wondering if the Flames offer is a backup deal that Buffalo is considering? Seems like they prefer the VGK offer but it seems more complicated than what the Flames offer would be?

I get the feeling that the Flames best offer probably can't get it done but the Sabres are leaking them as frontrunners to get Vegas or other interested teams to up their offers. The fact that it still hasn't been done tells me it's probably not going to for a while as I have to think teams like the Flames dug in and made their best offer a while back. I can't see Treliving waking up today and deciding that he's going to throw in that other 1st round pick that he wasn't weeks ago. As the weeks go by there's less incentive for interested teams to get this done until next year. It's probably on Buffalo now to either lower their demands or hold on until next year.
