Do a great "job" and the worst would be a good recommendation to a friend, as long as she is not "caty"

I did it last year. Big waste of time considering I found out five months later just what a real bitch she is.

So to get out of the friend zone and into relationship zone I need to demonstrate I have money? Excellent, can't wait to show off my $42.17.

It's better than $42.16

It's about time someone cracked that joke. Only took you a week.
You're totally right though, I spent the entire long weekend sitting in my one room apartment doing nothing (how come you didn't say parents basement?).

I think we stayed in and made turkey burgers on a George Foreman grill. Then there was some other stuff that I can't remember. The guy who had to take his girl to the Banff Spring's really has a demanding cow of a girl. What... did she finally give you a blowjob after you had to drop a grand on her?

Wow with the Haiti comments. I can't tell if you guys are being serious or not. You are so anti-Valentine's that it's ridiculous. Maybe next time you spend 200 bucks to go to a Flames game you should consider you could have watched it at home for free and given 200 to Haiti...

If the guy bought his lady some flowers, good for him. I did too. Whether or not I've donated to Haiti doesn't affect my flower buying, I can do both. Happy wife=happy life.

But if we're going to go there:

I spend money on my girlfriend. Would she spend time and money on me, yes.

I donated to Haiti. If something bad happened here, would Haiti give us time and money, no.

Therefore, if I did have to chose, I'd rather give money to things that would directly affect my life ie/ make my girlfriend happier. I did both, but that's just a point I'm making.

Such is life. Get over it.

edit to above:

I heard it's partly jokes...

So please excuse my rant.

If your lady wants Valentine's stuff, you have to get it. Unless you're a dumbass who wants to go on a date with Palmela Handerson instead of your lady.

Also, I am off to take a read the the espn subscription thread now...

Is it just me, or is it getting increasingly difficult to tell whether people on CP are being facetious or serious? All the quotes about Haiti, and the huge blow-up about eating at Papa John's in another thread leave me really wondering who is joking and who is just taking the piss, mostly because it seems that everyone around here has just been so on-edge and snarky the last few months. I can't really believe that someone could get attacked and piled-on for such an insignificant post/thread, so I'm really hoping that you're all joking and everyone will laugh about it in a few weeks (OP included).

The Papa John's thread got a little harsh for no apparent reason, but as for this one, see post 22 in this thread.

Papa johns thread did get a bit harsh. I was kind of impressed by patm's ability to not melt down. Unfortunately, most of his post history was extremely poor, hence the pile on. As for 7uongo, well, you've linked to one of the all time worst posts in the history of this board. IMHO, 7oungo deserves to be mocked relentlessly about it. And not in a funny, endearing way, like Wolven. In a "you're a completely useless poster" way, like patm.
