No, Majority of time missed last season was when he was hurt in training camp.

I may be misremembering but wasn't he looking like he was going to make the squad out of camp last year until he got injured? If so, how unfortunate for him that the team is so much better this year that he won't make it as an NHLer because of one season spent mostly on the injury list.

I personally wonder if he's more worried about opportunity in the top 9.
If I had to take a guess at what our opening night roster looks like:
Huberdeau-Sharangovich-Mantha
Zary - Kadri - Kuzmenko
Coleman - Backlund - Coronato
Pelletier - Pospisil - Lomberg
or
Pospisil - Rooney - Lomberg
I wonder if Pelletier is more worried that there isn't a real offensive opportunity for him with how this lineup looks to be constructed.

That's a roster that is indicative of a team that doesn't understand how things work. You don't get rid of Pelletier so you can bring in a Mantha or keep a Coleman/Backlund on the team. The goal every year should be to get rid of whatever you need to, so a guy like Pelletier can play and progress as needed.
I like Coleman, but it's not like this is a championship roster we don't want to mess with here... this is a bottom feeding roster that should have youth as its only redeeming quality until we can pick high enough, often enough to get something decent going.
This is still a roster that screams "get us two home playoff games or draft as low as possible in the process" to me. Hey Flames... it's been 40 years of this crap... repeat after me: if nothing changes, nothing changes.

^No it looks like a roster that will miss the playoffs badly. Particularly if you are looking at the blueline and goaltending.
That seems like a pretty non sensical rant that is more about baggage from previous seasons than what has happened more recently.

No way. If a prospect who is supposed to be NHL-ready cannot break into this bottom feeder lineup, they are not ready.

Especially considering Rooney, Mantha, and Lomberg are all guys who have been healthy scratched or sat in the AHL recently.
It’s not like the team brought in the big guns. If Pelletier can’t outplay Rooney he doesn’t belong in the NHL, period.

The Flames need a Reverse-Lazar trade here and recoop a 2nd before he gets hurt again.
Hes 100% replaceable if he even has a spot and hes not a top end scoring talent so at best hes a middle 6 winger thats injury prone. Time to move on while he still has any value.

I thought Pelletier looked good in a 4th line role at the NHL whenever I saw him there. He provides a lot of energy, was a bit snake bitten, and some unlucky goals/breakdowns happened. That's exactly why we should see a lot more of him at the NHL, so we can figure out what he really is.
The regression in the AHL, was a bit concerning, but coming back after such a long time off will mess with your game. Moreover, we don't know how close he was to 100%, because some injuries take more than 1 year to fully heal.
I expect Plletier to have a career similar to P. Byron at least in terms of checking and puck pursuit. We'll see what type of offense Pelletier brings at the NHL level, but I don't expect breakaways to be his bread and butter.

But has he signed yet though? Or does it have to be Monday to make sense?

No he hasn't signed. Neither has Solo, or Schwindt. All 3 will likely play games with the Flames this season.
I'm sure Conroy will sign all 3 pretty soon.
PS: I'm not sure what's happening Monday.

I don't have the time or energy to ready all the thread but I wonder if we could package Jakob with Jeremie and Rasmus to Montreal for our 1st and Mike Matheson?

I can't imagine what grounds Pelletier is trying to stand on to play hardball on a deal, oft-injured and when not hasn't put up stellar numbers. Just take your typical 2-way deal for a couple years and prove what you can do if you're healthy now.
That said, maybe the Flames aren't sure he's worth that right now? But you'd think he hasn't fallen completely out of favor yet, and it's not like the Flames are strapped for contract spots.
TLDR just trying to figure out why he hasn't signed as this one seemed pretty straightforward.

Holding out for a few crumbs in a pivotal season where you need to come storming out of the gates...that's a low IQ move at best.

Yeah he can't miss any part of camp. He's missed too much time and others are passing him by.

Wants a trade to Montreal or something? Even then it's pretty dumb to miss any more time at all if he can help it. He should be begging for a chance to show he has what it takes at this point.
