You can be ideologically opposed to war but still wear jerseys to support the veterans who went through and may continue to go through hell or lost their lives. You don’t have to embrace war to care about the people involved.
Conservative Christians claim to “love the sinner but hate the sin” but every time that they have chance to show that love, they turn away. Why? Because they really don’t love the person. It’s the only possible explanation.
It's conditional. By "love" it really means tolerance until the conditions are fulfilled. There's no love. And (not all but many) don't have a grasp of what love really means. They're just scared and repulsed and using whatever line to essentially emplore the person to stop being who they are.
And by that meaning behave heterosexually, which they are not and is not in their nature, of no fault of their own.
Life's too short for us to actually put energy into giving a #### about who someone else loves and what they happen to prefer. It's the most wasteful use of thought and energy that does nothing to better the planet and move us forward together.
If something makes you uncomfortable that's a sign to explore that, ask why that is, and work on resolving that trigger so you can live more harmoniously with people of different backgrounds in this diverse country/world. That's the loving thing to do. It's also what people who actually want to be better people would do.
Don't hide behind Jesus to avoid taking accountability for your internal conflicts around others that draw fear and hatred out of you. And don't use him as an excuse not to change. Cause every time you do and take the cowardly way back to fear and hatred disguised as love, you do the opposite of what Christianity allegedly preaches.
This coming from a Christian of many years.

The sarcasm doesn’t really play the way you think it does when it’s coming from someone who got a timeout for one of the multiple times he expressed his transphobic views.
Maybe take a lap.
Govern me harder, corporate-daddy. I dont want kids pushed into lifestyles with staggering suicide and mental health rates. Im such a monster lol.

Forcing people to pretend they are something they are are not, and ridiculing them if they don’t is what causes them to commit suicide. Preaching acceptance doesn’t equal pushing people to a lifestyle.

Late post but feel the need to express my major disappointment with the NHL on this decision. Usually I’m pretty defensive of the NHL and think they get over critiqued, but this is a huge fail for me.
Organizations with the exposure and influence the NHL has have a responsibility to help push society forward and help eliminate hate and ignorance, not abstain from the fight because it’s easier.

I’ll try to ignore the blatant homophobia here and say that you at least acknowledge the staggering suicide rates and mental health issues that queer people face. Unfortunately it is homophobic attitudes like yours that are the underlying cause. Queer people still face real risks from being outcast in their families to physical violence when they walk down the road or use the bathroom.
I knew that I was gay and trans people existed long before there were NHL Pride events. These events don’t “push” anyone towards a “lifestyle”. Do more queer people live openly today than they did decades ago? Yes almost certainly. It’s because events like Pride show them that they are welcome to live authentically.
Left handedness surged over the past century…not because people suddenly chose to write with their left hand but because they weren’t forced to write with their right hand.

If these guys didn't want to be social justice warriors, they should have stayed the hell out of competitive men's hockey.
Ah yee old Social Justice Warriors trope. Isn’t that like 5 or 10 years old.
I didn’t know that a warrior is someone who acknowledges the existence of a minority with recognition that they have a place in the sport, despite the homophonic heroes scared of rainbows on their Bud Light.

I think you are confusing Christianity and conversion camps with pride events. Did you decide to be straight after exploring the other side?

That is too hard for them. There always has to be another to rally against. It will be interesting to see if far right Muslims and far-right Christians start voting in tandem or if the far-right Christians will decide that being gay and trans is tolerable instead lol.
Theme nights will continue, minus player commitment.
Are they still going to have Pride warmup jerseys, players who want to participate can wear them and players who don't want to participate can wear their regular jerseys?

Specialty jerseys won't be worn by the players at all. As far as I understand it.
Probably just signed and auctioned off.
