Kind of a cop-out, IMO.

Hurts a lot of charities that fundraise off of jersey auctions.

So no warmup jerseys in camo to support the military? No pride jerseys? No Cinco de Mayo jerseys?

The #### is going on.

What a bizarre string of events the last 10-12months......I'm sure teams can come up with something else to take the place of warmup jersey auctions. Hopefully they do, anyways.

They can still have the theme nights... it's just that players won't wear any for warmups.

Apparently.

Obviously avoiding backlash from Pride night jerseys.

Which is too bad because they're all generally well done (if only teams would make them available to fans).

I'll let you guess which of those three Murica has a problem with.

I wonder if this trickles down to the minor leagues. They're even bigger on these sort of game promotions.

I think it's a fair question to ask the Flames governor how the organization voted on this issue.

Especially given the amount of public money that has just been invested.

Pretty sad that the few outlier players who refused to participate essentially managed to torpedo the whole thing. Bettman's not the guy who is going to do anything other than turtle in the face of losing a few bucks though so not a surprise.

Regardless of what you think of the players that do not want to wear something that may not represent their beliefs, they shouldn’t have to feel pressured or deal with the fall out of their beliefs.

Zero percent of the Flames players are of Chinese descent, yet they all wore the Chinese New Years jersey which did not align with any of their beliefs.

None of the Canucks are Hindu or Sikh, and they all wore Diwali jerseys.

So what are we really talking about here?

Nah man, **** that. The "belief" you're talking about is homophobia. Name and shame all the way.

The NHL could have just said no new warmup jersey themes.

Or the NHL could have said theme night jerseys are good, except the gay one.

Ah right just like I get to only teach students the history that fits my beliefs too? Or have to wear pants to work? Pathetic.
